Very good food that is all organic. But be warned that the spicy food is spicy. Not too hot but compared to most chain restaurants it is spicier. Also they have a good selection of options to build your own custom salad or healthy food bowl. We will definitely be back for more that is for sure!
Taco Tuesdays (dine in only $2 for most tacos) are a great offer at this place when we’re used to paying twice as much or more for the same. What I really love about Tocaya is that it has things that I can eat with all my food allergies, including gluten free choices and vegan cheese. One of my favorite things to order is the guacamole which always has a sprinkle of pomegranate and pépita seeds.
Since the pandemic, their two taco combo no longer includes the drink, and in fact I haven’t seen any of their usual array of iced teas and Aqua Fresca, which I really miss. However, the two sides with the taco combo really make a lot of food, so I am happy they still offer it.
Parking in Playa Vista isn’t usually easy, but usually there are available spots in the lot on the first floor, with the first fifteen minutes free. They will also validate for the hour if you’re there to dine in. Don’t forget to stop at Cafe Rousseau (if they’re open) on the way from the parking lot.
Such great, fresh food! Nice outdoor patio space. Great margaritas. We had the fajita bowl with chicken tinga (awesome!) and the keto bowl with carne asada (also awesome!). And the passionfruit margaritas, so good.
It’s also not overpriced, so that’s a bonus. All around great experience.
Great place with amazing food - always love finding places that make vegan friendly dishes and this spot definitely has great options!
A little on the expensive side, but worth the money. Fresh flavors and ingredients with a great variety of options. I usually get the bowls or tacos, so if you don’t know where to start I’d recommend those.
Taco Tuesdays!
Taco Tuesday offers a good deal on tacos. I got two of them and I paid about $4.50. The tacos were decent.
Tocaya has a great selection of cheese toppings. However, I wish that the cheese on my tacos would have more of a molten texture to it. It seems like the temperature of the taco and the meat alone were not sufficient to melt the cheese.
The Bathroom was clean and well stocked with the basic necessities.
The restaurant location is nice. Tocaya is nested in a nice nook on the edge of the campus. I love all the greenery used in decorating the eatery. The patio seating area looks very inviting.
Updated review: had a very negative first experience, but was really impressed by their management & ownership going above & beyond to make it right.
My next experience was much better in terms of both food and service—glad I tried it again!
