Lavash Marietta

What an incredible experience and delicious food. I’m visiting from NY and this place is nothing short of amazing. The food is beyond delicious, cooked well, and served hot. The chefs, along with the server, made me feel comfortable as they are very amiable. I would recommend Lavash if you are looking for exuberant, affordable, tasty Mediterranean food.

After driving hundreds of miles over the last two days, from Denver to Atlanta, finding something non-greasy and good to eat was at the top of my agenda. Luckily for me I happened to get a hotel room just across from Lavash Marietta. This pleasant, bright, and wonderful little place is nestled in a very Mediterranean influenced shopping area (halal butcher nearby, a jewish grocer, african restaurant, etc. etc.) All the cultural atmosphere really set my appetite on getting a gyro somewhere. On the patio of Lavash Marietta, there was a very pleased looking couple enjoying the sunny day with smiles and conversation in the shade. They certainly looked like they knew they were in a good place, so I figured I’d give it a shot. When I went up to look at the menu, a very sweet girl (It think she was Persian) suggested I try the special of the day. I am very glad she did. I don’t have a clue how to pronounce it, but all I can say is it was very similar to an open face chicken Gyro with rice, freshly chopped and dressed vegetables, humus, and pita bread. To just call it ‘rice’ does this place a huge disservice. I don’t usually rave about rice, but this was the best rice I have ever had. Everything on the plate was absolutely delicious and just tasted “healthy”. It was kind of like what Chipotle is to mexican food, only far better. I also tried the desert, which also, I can not pronounce. I have never had it before and it only added to the uniquely mediteranian dining experience. The ingredients were a fruit similar to mango or orange, coconut, a little walnut, and a zing of saffron. It was a very unique dessert that added even more to the fresh, healthy taste and feeling of the main dish ( the open face gyro/ rice plate thing that I can’t pronounce). The biggest surprise was the check. I realized I have spent more money at McDonald’s for a meal and an ice cream before. If you are looking for an authentic Mediterranean meal that is healthy, filling, and served in a clean pleasant surrounding from very nice people, Lavash Marrietta is a must.

The Chicken Kabob that I’ve ordered was very scrumptious, the decor is a beautiful Mediterranean setting, and the customer service is exquisite!!! DEFINITELY COMING BACK!!!!!!!!! Thanks Lavash Mediterranean Grill for the hook up!!!!!
