Buckleup Buttercup - This place is very flavorful! Yummy! The people are super friendly and helpful. They walked us thru the menu and answered all of our questions. The food came out piping hot! They have some of the best potatoes that I have ever had!
Small potatoes, perfectly crispy on the outside and buttery delicious on the inside. How do they do that? Don't know, but I will be back for more. The Breakfast Poutine is huge! Super cheesy and seasoned well. WOW! The Chicken and Waffles are not traditional at all... sweet and sassy! They offer a wide assortments of beverages. Next time I will save room for the Mimosa Flight! Looks amazing!
Ordered takeout from here this morning and I couldn’t wait to write a review. Everything was excellent.
We ordered the chicken & waffles, the biscuits & gravy, and the eggs Benedict. All of them were fantastic. The only thing I would do differently is order the bacon on the side of the chicken and waffles. For me personally that bacon was so good but so distinct in flavor that it was a bit to strong as part of the dish. That’s just me though. Others may love it.
Can’t wait to come back again!
It was my first time eating here and I’m so glad we found it. Food was great! Had the biscuits and gravy (wow!) and the chicken and waffles was amazing! French toast was also delicious. I would definitely recommend checking it out if you’re ever near this area.
I had intended to visit The Roots Restaurant for some time, and I'm glad I finally visited. It may just be me, but it's location doesn't put it at the front and center as folks drive through downtown Melbourne. All restaurants on Melbourne Court seem to fall into that category, and there have been some decent options in that area over the years.
I've had a few breakfast dishes at Roots with the majority being the breakfast burrito. I've also had the typical two egg, bacon, potatoes and toast plate. Service has been great, and the staff is helpful in offering other options that you not be considering. They've suggested their chicken biscuits, so that may be my next option. The coffee isn't my favorite, but I can work with it by adding water to thin it out a bit. Overall, it's a good option if you're in the mood for some good grub.
Went to breakfast with my family. Dining area is small but enough tables. The food was good I like the options they had. The food wasn’t amazing but it was cooked well and had good taste. Had the mimosas, which come in several flavors. They are amazing! So yummy! And our server, Gabby was so good at taking our orders. She was quick and concise and a very sweet girl! I hope they keep her, she’s very good at her job. I was overall satisfied, which is why I’m giving it 5 stars.
Great little place for local dishes. We have tried their brunch and lunch options. Burgers use extra thick home made patties, nice buns and I particularly like the beef and blue. For brunch the mimosa flight is a great way to sample some unique flavors and find your favorite. There's so many options there's something for every palate. I like to sample the biscuits and gravy everywhere I go, and this was one of the best downtown. The griddle sandwich was unique and tasty. Definitely worth checking out.
This is the most adorable little breakfast spot we have found! From its rustic atmosphere to its cheerful staff to the INCREDIBLE food, we definitely plan on returning on the regular. Best pancakes in town!

You’re gonna see the standard bacon, eggs, toast etc, but don’t be fooled. The Roots takes the basics and makes it better than anywhere else. The scrambler was hot, with the cheese perfectly melted around the potatoes, bacon, eggs, and veggies. The service was flawless. The server, Jessica, perfectly timed our to-go orders. Highly recommend.

Everything about my breakfast was perfect and to my liking - eggs cooked just right, tasty potatoes and not overly seasoned, and toast perfect with just the right amount of butter - not slathered on.
And the service! Jessica was very pleasant, attentive, and very accommodating.
This place is just a few steps off the New Haven Ave main drag. You really owe it to yourself to give it a try. You won’t regret it!
