I went there yesterday on a Monday evening early and had excellent, attentive service from Alicia. I ordered the barbecue platter which came with extreme meaty ribs, over a large portion of pulled pork, a little cup of coleslaw, another little cup of barbecue sauce to dip the pulled pork in ( I could have asked for more) and a large portion of their famous voo-doo potatoes. It was great!
As my husband put it “yeah they know what they are doing “ in between bites, referring to the ribs and pulled pork. We got the combo plate for 2 and portion was great. My favorites were the dry rub ribs, crab cake, and that famous gumbo!
We stopped in here on a Wednesday night in Memphis. The band that was playing that night (The Bluff City Groove Band) caught our ear. We were able to sit right in front of the band & had a great time sipping on our beers and grooving with them. The bar itself was pretty run of the mill, decent selection of craft beers (though a couple of them ran out pretty early), but able to be so up close to such great live music for free made this a five star experience
We fell into the tap room as it looks (and is!) the coolest hangout on Beale St, our server Kim helped us out with some local drinks! Delicious!
Great music, ambiance, great servers. Had a good time until the music was over at 6pm. Perhaps there is another band later.
Bartender was great. The drink was fun, but far too much sugar for me. No regrets, though. My friend finished mine too. We walked the strip and then came back for bathroom. We relaxed and enjoyed ourselves watching the cover band for quite a while. Friendly bar
A small and intimate bar with a decent selection of beers, pool table, live music and, at least when I was there, a friendly bartender.
A classic dive bar in the heart of Beale Street. Good selection of local beers, standard trade beers and as unpretentious as you can get. This place is a bit pricey though.
Our favorite spot on Beale! Great music, reasonably priced drinks and fun atmosphere.
I went to Memphis two weeks ago for the first time. I was there 4 nights and went to the Tap room EVERY night. I just love the atmosphere, the music and the people there, so much fun. The highlight of my entire trip was meeting the bartender, Connie at the Tap room. We had some of the best laughs and conversations and baby she fixes the BEST long Island iced tea I have ever had. Can't wait to go back to the Tap room!!
Great place for live music! This guy could tear up a harmonica like I've never seen!
I LOVE Melvin. He is the BEST bartender. He makes a great margarita and I come from San Diego so I know good margaritas. He introduced me to some gator and fried green tomatoes. The bar was filled with great music and great service. I will definitely be back on my next visit to Memphis. I was there during the day so I am looking forward to visiting at night.
