Good (but greasy) food! Building needs updating and a good scrub cleaning to enjoy a stay and eat meal.. but do recommend ordering food as a to-go order is usually good any time of the night or day! Memphis specialty! Unfortunately they do not accept call-in to-go orders so you have to go inside the restaurant to place order. Captured a recent menu pic and posted it!
Extremely busy wait time early this morning approximately 5 - 10 minutes, 3 employees working as a team and doing a great job for all their customers. Very nice helpful staff, clean restaurant, great food great prices, open 24 hours on Poplar Ave, breakfast lunch and dinner served 24 hours 7 days a week. Keep up the great work and good customer service.
Oh man, what a great dining experience. Food was wonderful. Employees always smiling. I loved it! The jukebox was an added bonus. They cut that on, on my second visit, and all the customers white and black were tapping there foot. Awsome
The cook is the best! I don't know her name but everyone calls her "Mama"
Stopped in for breakfast with my love and had THE best ham and cheese omelette. If there ever was a perfectly cooked omelette, it was here! The eggs were so incredibly fluffy and the taste was amazing! We would give them 10 stars if we could!
This is good old-fashioned breakfast cooked the right way... The servers and the Kooks always make me feel like I'm at home... Yes it's an old building but the people there make you feel very comfortable and they're always glad that you came. Also the waffles hash browns basically everything on the menu oh and especially the patty melt are awesome... this it the number one place for me for breakfast.
I LOVE CKs! 4 stars because my eggs were sunny side up and not over medium, but it was a very good experience! Took my son(10) and his friends(10&13) one afternoon and had breakfast for lunch. The food was delicious. I got what I think was called the Paul Bunyan and the kids had waffles with hash browns and one got a ham and cheese omelet. Got to play music on the new age jukebox and they loved that since it was their first time there. $5 got you 17 credits so we shared them with another family that was there as we were leaving. We're definitely going back since the kids enjoyed their breakfast and no one complained the whole time. That's a win with 3 kids.
This is an Urban Waffle House. Small, cozy and very affordable. Their speciality is Steak & Eggs. By far the best steak in the area. Food was moderately seasoned appropriate for the masses. I love the up to date juke box. Bring cash if you don’t want to pay $2.25 debit card fee. Seating and parking limited so go during off peak times. The ladies manning this place are killing it!!! I will definitely be back!
This spot is a back in the day spot so it will always be a favorite of mine. However the staff has changed. There's a younger crew in there that DON'T quite know the proper way wait on tables. My waitress did not bring me water with my coffee. The coffee wasn't fresh so I asked for a coke (which they no longer serve coke product but Pepsi) the waitress that waited on me did not tell me this but the young lady that brought me my food did.My waitress NEVER smiled OR communicated with me as she served me. Smh it is really hard to find good help!
We enjoyed CK's the place is old but the food was delicious me and my mom had the waffle with bacon and eggs. My dad and brother had the ham and cheese omelette. I taste a bite of my dad omelette OMG it was good I almost order me one lol! This is a good Memphis spot.
