My hubby and daughter and I stopped in today on a whim. We were not disappointed!!! I got the mushroom Swiss burger with spiced waffle fries, hubs got the bacon cheeseburger with onion rings and my baby girl got the mini corn dogs with regular fries. They were all absolutely delicious! While we waited we were engrossed in the unique decor, witty quotes on the walls, signed napkins along the chair rail and my 3yr old and I counted all the Texas stars we could find. The decor is fun and you can feel the history in the place. We didn’t notice the free beans until after our meal was done. But they were delicious, tangy and spicy all the same. We just found our new lunch spot. Thank you for a nice experience and much enjoyable lunch. We were too full to partake in the pies, but we’ll make sure to leave room next time!!�
Had the bacon burger and fries. Was one the best burgers I had live had. Highly recommend stopping in if in the area
Burgers are huge and includes fries with their "burger basket" for $8.99. Choice of different cut fries. Service was excellent but a little slow but understandable around lunchtime.
I will definitely go back even though meat was a little dry and unseasoned for my taste. I needed to add salt.
Steak sandwich is also huge and very good.
Burger was cooked fresh and served hot. Friendly service. Curly fries were so-so - I'd try sweet potato fries next time - and they were almost out of dessert at 5:30pm. My only real complaint was that I had to use napkins to handle the ketchup bottle on the table, it was so messy. But I would definitely go back for the great burger and cool atmosphere. There's also a gift and coffee shop adjacent, but it was already closed for the day. Best to visit the town during midday or on weekend.
Really neat place! Great food, shop right next door with all kinds of treasures. They also have a coffee bar! Wish I would've known ahead of time and I would've gotten one before I was too full! Most of all, server was exceptionally friendly and attentive, Mineola has a great downtown!

This place has been here since 1984 (I was 13). This is one of those places with lots of character. Probably because it's been here so long. That Old Fashioned Burger Basket, it's as good as they say it is. Hand cut fries! Never frozen! If you're looking for sweet tea this is also the place for that. Real southern sweet tea for sure! That brings me to the pie. I asked her if they made it and she said they did. Now folks, you can lie about homemade pie all you want but you'll get found out about on that. In other words, people who know homemade pie when they eat it will know the difference. With that said, that coconut cream pie was thick! The crust was not perfectly uniform and that meringue was crunchy because of the sugar in it. It was no amateur, that was a professional done job. In other words, somebody in that kitchen knows what they're doing. I say all that just to say this, just come on. It's dang good. ( And by the way, that was the cleanest bathroom I have ever been into. Just saying.)
What a gem! In town for two days and had dinner Saturday. The chicken fried steak was fresh, not frozen, with a delicious batter. Came with mashed potatoes with gravy and green beans for $10!! Wife had grilled onion cheddar burger with sweet potato fries for $12. Both were delicious. Staff was very friendly and atmosphere hometown. Highly recommend if you're close.
Best dang burgers east of the Pecos. My family and I drove all the way from Pecos New Mexico to visit family and eat a famous East Texas Burger Co. burger. Was not disappointed in the least. If you're in the area don't hesitate to stop by.
Pretty good! Not a lot of seasoning on the burger but would go back! Great fries and super friendly staff!
