I love the FireBox Deli. I've been there twice on separate trips to Minneapolis. I've had both the wings and the brisket. I have to say both were the best I've had. The wings were dry rubbed, smoked and then flash fried. This gave them an awesome crisp on the outside with a tender light smokey flavor on the inside. The brisket was very tender and with the fat broken down to provide incredible flavor. The staff is friendly and respectful. The seating area has a comfortable diner feel. I highly recommend it!
Was there last night 2/10/17 and decided to try out the beef brisket combo... it was really good,tender,& juicy... also had the pork ribs too they are good the meat just slides off the bone and tastes good! The meats were not dry and tastes like they are fresh... a meal well worth for the price... definetly a spot to try out for bbq cravings.. ����
I found this gem on DoorDash, I was skeptical since I have lived on the north side for years and this has never been brought up. I now know where I’ll be going from now on. The beef brisket was amazing, it was cut a little thicker so it was just juicy and tender. I also ordered the full rack of pork ribs and was pleased with the size, quantity and quality. They pack the sauce on the side and I’ll be honest I was 1/4 done before I started drizzling some on them. The sauce isn’t my favorite but it’s a thinner Carolina type, great for chicken nuggets. The Mac n cheese was also amazing and the coleslaw is to die for.
Amazingly flavored ribs and rib-tips. The greens and Mac and cheese are pretty good too. Excellent customer service by the lady behind the counter. Should have probably taken a pic before demolishing half the food 😂
Some of the best bbq I’ve had in Minneapolis. Mac and cheese could be better. Everything else was 🔥🔥🔥 bbq sauce was a hit to and you have to get mommas extra hot sauce. Reasonable prices $20 for 2 meats w/ 2 sides. Very friendly service and the wait was only 15 minutes. Definitely worth checking out.
Went there for lunch today with a couple friends from work. Wasn't very busy when we walked in, took about 3 mins before I placed my order. Grabbed a glass of water and it was hardly 2 mins that I had sat down at the table and my order was already in front of me. Looked and tasted yummy! Good serving size. I couldn't finish the whole thing. After a while, the lunch crowd came it and it became quite busy. Prices felt very slightly on the higher side, but o will definitely be going back soon!
The sides were a little lack luster, but the sandwich itself was amazing. Would recommend getting an extra side of BBQ.
Very good southern style bar b que. I was quite surprised at how good it was. I was never thinking I would find a place in Minneapolis that had it this good. Side were a good variety of things I am used to. Had Collard greens and sticky rice. I grew up in Mississippi and am used to good bar b que. There was even an Aisan flare as they had Egg rolls on the menu.
This place has #reallygoodbbq.
The beef brisket is usually awesome as are the rib tips. I say usually because I have gotten bad beef brisket here on occasion. It’s rare but it does happen. Overall this place is better than some of the bigger BBQ chains. I highly recommend you stop in and get yourself some BBQ. Especially the beef brisket.
This barbeque gem hidden in North Minneapolis has some of the best brisket and ribs in the Twin Cities area. While you don't get to choose fatty or lean brisket like at other barbeque joints you won't be disappointed. The bark on their brisket is amazing! The two meat plates are a great value and can easily be shared, but you probably wont want to after taking your first bite!
Firebox BBQ is close to my house so I felt I’d give it a shot. Wonderful ribs. Ordered them without the sauce on them. Glaze/crusting was delicious. I could eat these without sauce. Best ribs I’ve had this year.
I felt the sauce was too “ketchupy”, but by the end of the slab, it mixed perfectly with the glaze/rub on the ribs. Delicious.
They don’t have baked beans which was odd for a BBQ place, so I gave the collard greens a try. I’m no collard greens expert, but I loved these. Spicy. Not hot, hot spicy, just a nice kick to them. They tasted great and I’d order them again.
I ate there at 12:15 on a Wednesday. Nowhere to sit. There’s not much seating, so plan on doing take out. That said, lunch rush, I was 4th in line. From the time I ordered to the time I left with my food, 8 minutes. Fast service.
