I can't remember the last time I paid less than $8 for a filling meal.
Dagwoods provides excellent sandwich options, both hot and cold. My ham deli on rye brings me back to sandwiches from childhood. Piled high with meat, sprouts, pickles, lettuce, onions and tomatoes. I only wish I had the room to eat the rest of my chips, but that would likely be dinner.
The hot sandwiches looked really good, but I'm more of a cold-day/hot sandwich type or guy.
The only thing I can complain about is that I can't get a sandwich later in the afternoon. They close too early. But I guess they do pretty much nothing but skyway business? Regardless the sandwiches are frigging awesome!
One of my favorite sub sandwiches. Hot sandwiches are wonderful. I alternate between the Turkey and the Roast Beef. Only downside is sometimes the potato chips taste a little stale.
Ordered the pastrami dagwood with everything on it and it was delicious - I am definitely coming back again!
Update:
Came back, had the Special this time and it was just as good as the pastrami. Watched someone else try a Special for the first time and they immediately said, "This is the best sandwich I've ever had."
The Dagwoods sandwiches here are amazing, not even considering the low price compared to other places in the skyway. I absolutely love the Pastrami Dagwood. The amount of chips you get with your sandwich could also feed a small family.
Also don't sleep on their breakfast! Their breakfast sandwiches are also very good and only like $3!
It's a great place. I go here all the time.
The best value for a skyway sandwich. Food is fast, fresh, and tasty. It’s hard to find lunch downtown for less than $15, Dagwoods delivers!
We had an order for 25 people for our volleyball team and parents. Ordering went smoothly and everything was exactly as requested. Food was great and had a variety which satisfied everyone! Definitely recommend when downtown Minneapolis.
The food has no right to be this good for this price. Can't get over how good it was
If I lived or worked in this part of town I would eat here every day. First off the bread was super fresh and that really makes a nice sandwich, but it doesn't end there. They're toppings are really delicious and well seasoned. As others have mentioned there is not a ton of meat on the sandwich, but for the price I found that it was a good deal. And the overall balance of flavors left me with no regrets. Sure if you look at the sandwich it doesn't look like there's much to it meat-wise, but I prefer to eat my sandwiches and boy oh boy was it delicious.
Downtown Mpls classic. Been there for years, and I've been going for years. If you know, you know! :)
