I was very excited to come to Samarkand. I've been seeing the signs as it's next to my favorite restaurant, Tea House. After eating here, Tea House has moved to my 2nd favorite restaurant. The Chuchvara soup has perfect little dumplings and the best flavored broth. We ordered the Qovurma Lagman for my granddaughter who can't eat dairy, and I couldn't stop eating it. It will be my go-to for takeout. The appetizers were large enough to split and share, but we all finished them too fast. The housemate sauce with the Samsa on Skewer was tomato based and reminded me of the Qalayet Bandora I had in Jodan. The Potatoes in Mushrooms need to be ordered with every meal to share. Equate them to chips and salsa if you will. 😋 My hubby, known for being a picky eater, loved the Lentil soup. Said it was the best he'd had. He is always on the hunt for a good lentil soup. My main dish was Chalagach. As full as I was, it rewetted my appetite when it arrived. The crisp onion salad was a perfect complement to the salty lamb. I took home my dessert, it was my birthday, the Neopolian. It was light, flaky, perfection. I can't wait to go back!

We recently had dinner with our family and everything was delicious from babaganoush, beet salad, chicken salad, lentil soup, with amazing Uzbek bread with the meat paradise (which included lamb chops, beef, chicken and lula kebabs). We also had Uzbek pilav and tried the liver previously. Presentation, and service was great, staff was very friendly. Lentil soup took me all the way to Turkey which i made me realize i missed that taste, it was really good. Restaurant has a great atmosphere. I believe they also have live music on Saturdays. If you are looking for a great experience and taste delicious Uzbek foods look no further. I strongly recommend it.

My first time with Uzbek cuisine. Wonderful photo murals evoke enormous constrasts of the Silk Road, the Turan Plain, the rapid changes in the Aral Sea, cotton, silkworms, high speed train from Tashkent to Samarkand, and the new rail link from Pakistan to Kasakstan via Afghanistan. The food is terrific and the service excellent. Will return.

Excellent food, service, and ambiance! The Манту (Mantu) and шурпа (Shurpa) were fantastic and even the pickles were house-made. Highly recommended!

Great authentic Uzbek food, finally available in the Twin Cities! Good service, Russian language spoken, beautiful videos of Uzbekistan shown instead of some random NBA game. Very generous pour of wine, excellent kebabs (most places around they are too dry). Chicken kebabs and borscht recommended for kids.

Really wonderful restaurant in every way. The food was really succulent and delicious, but still reasonably priced. Service was great. Ambiance is very pleasant with mellow lighting and traditional decoration. Loved the cabbage rolls and plov, so flavorful and rich without being greasy. The kabobs we had were perfectly grilled and seasoned. Ideal date night location by the movie theater! Loved the honey cake. We will be back to try the other desserts.

Food in Samarkand was decent and fresh and well seasoned. The bread and the pasta dish ( I think it was lahmun?) was the highlight and was very good. However the atmosphere has something left to be desired as there were some flies bothering my lunch. Nevertheless the restaurant had a very homey vibe and pretty chill. Service times were a bit too slow but was understandable as the place stemmed to be understaffed. Overall a decent experience

As an Uzbek , let me tell you this place is great . It is hard to get the food right and unfortunately having tried out many other Uzbek places , I have always walked out disappointed. But not in this place . Food is authentic, fresh, cooked just right and delicious . The atmosphere is also great and clean place . Service is amazing and attentive . Little on the expensive side but for me it was worth it . Highly recommend checking out .

Another example of immigrants making America even better. SAMARKAND is named after the second largest Uzbek city. Originally a capital city captured by Alexander the Great in 329 BC. Food was very tasty and fresh Russian spoken, service excellent. Really makes you want to travel.
