Great Food!. We had The Ranch House cater a lunch at Evonik in Theodore for about 40 people and the food was absolutely awesome. It didn't have that "chemically" taste like another one of the companies that cater here.

Great home cooking. This place is deceiving when u see it from the road. Makes you think twice going in, but great family, homely atmosphere when you go inside. The food is great and would go back again for sure.
The Best Sunday Dinners. My husband and I frequently come here after church. This is an unusual restaurant. It's somewhat like you're eating in someone's home. The atmosphere is very comfortable & home-like. The buffet food is EXCELLENT! It is a unique mix of home cooking and gourmet dishes. There is a wide variety of vegetables, shrimp, some of the best ribs in town, and other varied chicken, beef, and seafood dishes. One day we had pork loin with a cranberry sauce, one time we had steaks (our experience was that they were very good.) Another day there was a shrimp with some type of white sauce poured over small grits cakes. Some dishes appear frequently, others change. We frequently get surprised. And you can go back to the buffet - & taste some of everything (if you have room!) Very good prices, too.
Thursday nite steak night. I have been going here for about a year now and I have never had an bad experience until last night 05/23/2013. This is steak night and they normally have the best steaks in Mobile. Well they must have gotten there meat from some where else and the cook changed because it was the worst tasting and toughest steak I have ever had. I get better Steaks then this at food world. It was also very, very loud in there with the music you could not even hear yourself talk. All the other food is great. The seafood night on Fridays is out of this world. I do not recommend them for steak night. But highly recommend them for Seafood night. THUMB DOWN TO STEAK NIGHT> THUMBS UP TO SEAFOOD NIGHT.
Like all the food and service here, the white chocolate bread pudding is great!
I love this restaurant. The food is the best. The buffet has a wide variety of tasty, home cooked entrees and sides. The casual atmosphere is comfortable and welcoming. The environment is relaxed and family friendly. Lunches are delicious and provide a wonderful break from fast food and/or chain restaurants. Karaoke steak night is lots of fun at a very reasonable price. The Thursday night rib-eyes are amazing. Friday night provides an incredible variety of seafood, salads, veggies, and other sides as well as desserts. I've also enjoyed several functions, (weddings and business lunches) catered by the Wiltons, owners/opèrators of The Ranch House.
Amazing food. Not a bad meal in 2. years of going once a week. Thursday is my favorite. Wonderful service and always nice to catch some vintage movies while we are there.
My new favorite restaurant!!. We noticed this little restaurant while driving through Theodore in Mobile, Al one day. After eating their friday lunch we learned about Thursday night steak/karaoke night. We set our plans in motion for "date night" the following Thursday evening. First I'm a sucker for a delicious ribeye (and it was delicous), but the spread of vegetables and desserts are also quite wonderful. At first I was going to be the only one to sing and get $5 off my dinner but by the end my other half and his cousin got in on the fun and sang for their supper too. All together our meal totalled $27 and kids 9 and under eat free!! The food is good home cooked food that doesn't weigh you down and you definitely leave satisfied. I am looking forward to eating at the Ranch House again (probably tonight) and would also utilize their catering service if I required such service. Hands down this is one of my top restaurant choices in Mobile Alabama.
Absolutely fantastic!. I love this restaurant. They have great food and a newly redecorated dining area. There's fun, food and KARAOKE! It's so much fun and very family friendly.
Hiding in plain sight. I've been wanting to try this place ever since I first learned of it right here on Urbanspoon. It's located on Gunn Road, 7/10 of a mile from Three Notch Road. Watch your odometer or you'll drive right past it. You're looking for a very non-descript "ranch house" sitting in the middle of a lot of land. The only sign is a banner hung on the fence that you won't see until you are right there.
The name suits to a tee because the land it sits on looks like it used to be a horse ranch and the building used to be the ranch house. In fact, the decor in the front dining room is like someone really cleared out their living room and brought in tables, chairs and booths. It's comfortable.
Now, to the food. This is a buffet restaurant. They serve lunch from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., Mondays through Fridays, $7.00 per person for buffet or $8.00 for buffet and a drink, tax included. You can expect three meat dishes and all the vegetables and side items. I'm told their pulled pork is very popular. On Fridays, though, the price is $9.95 per person due to the seafood offerings.
They are only open for supper on Thursday and Friday nights, starting at 5:00 p.m. Thursday nights is steak night. You get a 12 oz ribeye steak, cooked-to-order, plus salad and fruit bar, plus the vegetables and starches buffet, plus dessert, plus drink for $12.95 per person, tax included. Thursdays is also karaoke night. If you sing (even badly) you get your meal for half price!
On Friday nights $17.95 per person will get you all the previous night's selections except for several seafood entrees instead of steak. On Sundays, $13.95 per person will get you a nice assortment of seafood offerings and steak, plus all the aforementioned salad, sides and dessert.
The wife and I made our first visit right at opening time on a Thursday night. Everyone was so friendly and cheerful! Our server, Cathy, was phenomenal -- answering every question with enthusiasm and never letting our tea glasses hit bottom. We made our visits to the salad and fruit bar and the side dishes buffet and returned (between the two of us) with our salads plus italian green beans with onions, turnip greens, yellow squash, country mashed potatoes (with the skins blended in), steamed broccoli, macaroni and cheese and a baked potato. While we were enjoying all the fresh flavors, Cathy comes out with our steaks. I don't know what to tell you other than these were the juiciest, most well-seasoned, cooked perfectly medium-well, most tender and succulent steaks we have put knife and fork to in a loooooonnnnnng time. Well, hey. Maybe I *do* know what to tell you after all. We both felt like that old cartoon dog that would shoot up in the air and hug himself all the way down for the love of his food -- mmm, mmm, mmm-ing all the way. Cindy Wilton knows how to fix some ribeyes. Let me tell you!
As if all this wasn't enough, we "forced ourselves" to share some moist cheescake with fresh-made strawberry topping and some scrumptious strawberry shortcake. It's a good thing they have wheelbarrow service to your car!
Owners Cindy and Charles Wilton, Jr. have a culinary winner on their hands, but you have to know where to find them! And we will certainly find them again -- on a Friday night, or a Sunday afternoon, or for a weekday lunch and DEFINITELY for another Steak and Karaoke night. My mouth is watering just thinking about it.
Good food, particularly the vegetables. They might want to upgrade some of the furniture. The only downside is that they have entrees that might not appeal to everyone. Fried chicken is something the EVERYONE loves and ought to be a regular food on the bar. Nice atmosphere and some of the best sweet tea anyone makes.
Very good food at a reasonable price. Macaroni and Cheese was home made and was awesome! 9 bucks for all you can eat and includes a drink. Sweet tea was nice and fresh. Dinged one star, the lemon pie was frozen
My friend envied me to come with him because I'm always talking about my love for "real food" not commercial grade stuff. I also love places off the beaten path a place that unless you're local you'd never know about. Well the Ranch house did not disappoint, the lady working there was very friendly, like others have said it's like going to a friend's farm house on a Sunday after church. Lots of food, great dessert too!
So today I'm taking my wife!!!
Ranch house has a great home like feel and the service is like your family. Also their food is very very good, especially their pulled pork alongside their homemade sauce. I really enjoy driving out to Gunn rd to enjoy the lunch buffet as often as possible. I really like the owner who really seeks to make his customers happy, full, and enjoy a professionally prepared, good ole country meal.
Wonderful. Place to dine out and have a casual country meal. They have a friendly staff who will tend to the patrons and always. A smile
Have a blessed day 😃
I went when they first opened up, great food ,unlike some reviews . still great food , but passed by people who enjoy junk: fast food. reasonable prices.
Good food every time I eat there. (at least once a week) Folks are very friendly and courteous.
