We had an excellent dinner to end our culinary tour of New Orleans. Our table got escargot with marrow, Brussels, oysters, and beet salad for appetizers....they were all delicious. For mains we got, trout blackened, chicken, pork, and shrimp and grits...all were delectable but the blackened trout one one of the most delicious things I ate all weekend. For dessert, the best bread pudding we had while visiting! 😍
Great experience at Luke for a small group of 5. The table next to us had 8 and we had two servers dedicated to our two tables. Attentive service, water glass never empty, and exceptional food. I was surprised at the volume control... full restaurant and we did not have to yell to hear each other.
Pictures: roasted duck, roasted chicken, chocolate mousse, and bread pudding.
This spot exceeded expectations in cuisine, atmosphere and service. We went early. It was happy hour and this place does happy hour right. The cocktails are half price and are fully made. The appetizer of seafood salad and smoked trout dip were superb.
I enjoyed the Conundrum, which is a spin on an Old Fashioned. My husband is deaf with a cochlear implant. He motioned to our server, across the way and pointed to my empty glass and made the hand motions of breaking spaghetti and smiled. The server winked and nodded and brought me another delicious cocktail at the happy hour price.
The roast chicken, vegetables and pork schnitzel we enjoyed were simply extraordinary.
This is a place not to be missed on your New Orleans journey. It's among the very best.
