Delicious, delicious, delicious! All dishes were served with great presentation and the spices were all perfect. Tasted fresh and authentic. The service was also immaculate, very friendly and patient, explained thoroughly and answered any questions we had about the dishes. This place is a gem worth experiencing. I will definitely be back the next time I visit the city. Thank you!

Highly recommend the dal and raita. Naan was pretty good (very fresh). Not a big fan of their gulab jamun. Overall the restaurant made an honest attempt to serve home style feast food from northern India and it was refreshing to see a menu with slightly different ingredients (like jackfruit, gourds, mint gravy etc) compared to some of the other Indian restaurants that don't necessarily experiment with the menu or charge a surcharge if they do. Our order was delayed a bit so they also served us complementary beetroot kebabs which were really tasty. Our server missed my husband's order of beer even after a few reminders. Hopefully they'll work on improving their service. Overall relaxed vibe, reasonable pricing and getting a table was easy. Go here to try something new without having to pay $$$. It's a woman run business. She was really down to earth - she got us a table, started the initial table service rather than making us wait for someone to help us.

If you want delicious Indian food then you have to check out Amma. The food is outstanding and the presentation is so nice as well! We were walking by and saw that they had outdoor seating and decided to check it out. We were so happy with everything that we ordered. The paneer makhani is the best in NYC, we were literally licking our fingers clean, it was that good! The service is excellent, everyone who works there is super friendly and very helpful. This place has a michelin star and it shows exactly why! Bravo Amma for making delicious finger licking food. We will be back soon! IG-@travleen_gurl

We had a lovely dinner at Amma at an outdoor table. They have heat lamps for colder weather, which definitely came in handy. With one vegetarian and one omnivore diner, we found that Amma had the perfect balance of options. We had beetroot kofta and paneer makhni, both of which were delicious. The keema naan was a great addition. The atmosphere was comfortable and pleasant, and the staff were very attentive. I would definitely recommend Amma for an upscale and high quality evening out.

Saw this restaurant on restaurant week website and came here on Saturday. We didn’t know that restaurants don’t do restaurant week menus on Saturdays but the waiter told us that since he saw us having the restaurant week menu pulled up on our phone, he felt bad and didn’t want to disappoint us, therefore still let us order the restaurant week menu. That was so nice of him! The dishes tasted good, and the only thing we didn’t like was the rice. The rice was obviously from left over yesterday and a big portion of them were firm and dry. However, the Gulab Jamun was so good that we ordered it twice. It was our second time trying this dessert so far in our lives but this one from this restaurant was especially good, much better than the one we tried in an Indian buffet restaurant before. The chewy texture was what made this special although it was very very sweet.

stopped by tonight, rainy evening. We originally made a takeout order, when I went to go pick up the food, I was lucky to score a table. The staff was so nice, they unpacked everything and plated all the food. I thought that was an amazing gesture of hospitality. The service is thoughtful, but not pushy. They check in without disrupting the flow of dinner. I had the lamb Rogan Josh, Basil chicken and fried Okra as a side (suggested by the staff member). It was all Full of flavor and delicious. I paired it Garlic and plain naan bread which was fluffy and crispy. Overall, I highly recommend Amma for those that love Indian food and those that are new to it. The excellent staff here will guide you through their menu. To the staff at Amma: THANK YOU for your service, we need you to stay open!!

Ordered take out lunch. Food was fresh. Vegetable serving was very very small. Taste good for local palate but for us Indian food eaters very bland. Service was excellent on time. Just a suggestion if they give standard Vegetable serving with some salad a green chilly ( to Indian people) and spoon, fork and tissues will be great. I will be back and will recommend this place because the food was fresh. We need to support this place

Amma is a lovely restaurant. It's my second time going and they never disapoint. The staff is attentive and accommodating. Everything is so flavorful and delicate. I suffer from heartburn and I don't get heartburn from their spices and their fried okra. They have this amazing dessert made of cottage cheese in sweet milk. I suggest yelling them about it in the beginning. It sells out. Great way to end the meal. Big wine list also.

Both food and service were amazing. Great flavors, perfect portions and delicious dessert. We did the restaurant week coursing menu which was fantastic. Drinks were great as well. Will be back the next time we are back visiting NY!

So so so good. Very friendly staff always willing to accommodate spice level, food allergies, etc. Has a fancy feel to it without the fancy pricing. We always come here whenever we’re in town and craving Indian food. Grab some dinner here next time you can!
