I really enjoyed the Milling Room. The atmosphere is quite beautiful and calming. The service was attentive and polite. The food- so wonderful. I opened with the butternut squash soup with crab chunks and pumpkin seeds. It was ok; a bit of salt would have brought out the flavors that I felt were present but dull. Next, I tried the grilled octopus. It was solid. My main was the squid ink pasta with gulf shrimp. It was 10/10. So delicious! I closed with the bread pudding which was a lovely sweet ending. I enjoyed two rounds of their drink called "the charade." I look forward to returning to explore more the food and drink menu as well as experience the ambiance with the sun is up.
Was really surprised by the atmosphere, awesome venue , really opens up in the back. Great drinks, loved the ice cube - actually let it melt and drank some of the spicy mix in it…. The food was raved about by all guests, I couldn’t eat seafood so I was quite limited but I had the steak and it was solid.

I photographed Hanna and Dan's beautiful wedding here in the fall. I highly recommend it! The Milling Room is a spacious and bright restaurant. The oversized skylight provided amazing light under which they said their I do's.
Comfortable ambiance and tolerable noise level made for a pleasant dinner experience. Plenty of seats during early dinner hours allowed space between tables. The service and food are both excellent. Waitress was attentive and gave good suggestions, including the short rib, which was delicious. The chilled pea soup was light and flavorful, great for summertime dining. Thoroughly enjoyed the meal.
The food and cocktail were delicious. Our waitress was ok, we weren't deeling her energy. She barely came to check on us. However, he enjoyed the other service team.
The Milling Room is such a lovely restaurant in UWS. I love the beautiful, open, spacious dining area.
I came for brunch with a friend and we had a very comfortable dining experience, with their large tables spaced out nicely and high ceilings. At many other restaurants in the city, tables are right next to each other, so we really liked how the tables were spread out and we could enjoy a conversation without having to yell over other voices.
I ordered the Creamy Risotto ($21+), with asparagus, English peas, fava beans and parmigiano. It had a poached egg on top, which was nice. The dish itself was a bit bland, though. I would recommend asking for extra parmesan.
I would love to make this one of my go-to brunch spots, but will need to find a dish I really like.
I had the Ricotta Gnocchi and the Panna cotta, both were delicious and well balanced. The desert really was the star of the meal. The service was great, and the place was beautiful (we dined in).
The brunch is superb! They carry a very good selection of savory and sweet fair in the menu, the steak and eggs is really good and the service is great, the only thing is that the bloody Marys are way too small!
Absolutely gorgeous place, truly impressive and quite sprawling for the city. Came before a concert at The Beacon theater with a friend on a Saturday night. Got the heart romance Caesar salad, hamachi crudo, and I got the squid ink linguine vongole (forget what my friend got). Also a strawberry fields special cocktail. It was all very good and so fresh. Will absolutely return.
I had a great dinner here. The front bar area is a great place to grab a drink, and then, in the back, it opens up into a large dining venue. It’s low lite with candles—an absolutely fantastic, intimate atmosphere.
The food was also delicious. We sampled many mains, and all of them were great. These included the tuna tartar, octopus, Caesar salad, and burrata. For the main entrees, I had the NY strip steak, which was cooked perfectly. Others in the party had the duck pasta and breast which they said was great as well.
The staff were kind and friendly. They were helpful with ordering wine and ensuring we were well taken care of.
