We didn’t have a rsv and we were starving and the hostess was super helpful and try to find the way to have us (which we didn’t have in other places even when empty tables bc of ‘reservations’). The bartender was also super nice and did great recommendations. Food was great and super quick to serve. The wine recommended by the bartender was spectacular, I would really recommend. Nice place, great food and moreover amazing service.
Fish was good, steak bit watery and fat for a NY strip. The Nutella pizza desert is good if you are a sugar person. Large serving - coming for trying pizza / pasta -
Can't say enough good things about this place. Amazing wood burning oven pizzas! Perfect al dente pastas! Delicious salads and appetizers! Nothing disappoints here! One of my favorite Italian places in NYC and a great value as well!
Gluten free heaven!
We were staying around the corner and thought we would try Tavola on our last evening. So glad we did!
My wife is gluten free, but that was no issue.
The waiter was very attentive and explained what gluten free dishes they could offer.
The gluten free focaccia was epic, even for someone who can eat gluten!
The gluten free pizza uses the same bread base and was also delicious, as was the standard pizza base.
Good wine recommendations and a lovely building and atmosphere made this a very memorable meal.
Thoroughly recommended!
Some of the best Italian food restaurants in Hells Kitchen. You have to try one of the custom made personal pizzas. Lots of gluten free options.
We go here often, when visiting mom's who live around the block. It's always a great authentic Italian meal. Often they offer great specials but have an amazing base menu also.
Nice small, warm, family atmosphere. Tavola has not disappointed yet!
Best eggplant parmesan I've ever had! This place is amazing! Food is superb. You can tell they use the freshest ingredients. Everything we tasted was fantastic! Our server Roberto was so accommodating and really made our experience that much more special. I haven't tried every Italian restaurant in New York, but I'd be willing to bet that this is one of the best!
The best Parma pizza I have ever ate in my life. Generous and delicious portions, the dough was thin and crispy. I also tested the other dishes (we were 8) and everything was yummy!!! Also friendly yet respectful staff
Delicious Italian food, BIG portions. The papadelle pasta with ragout was delicious, and so was the gnoggi. Wine is a bit pricey (13.50 or 15 usd per glass) but that's pretty much everywhere in NYC. Pinot grogio was nice and crispy. The ovens are named after the two volcanos of Italy, now that's humor! Very nice, sincere staff. Reservation recommended. Fast service for diner before a Broadway show.
The service reminds you of what service USED to be like before 3-5 years ago. Busboys there instantaneously to fill your water and clear empty glass and plates, waiters extremely knowledgeable, present and on top of their tables. They never disappear or leave you wondering where they are.
But even more important the food is excellent and very authentic. It’s what people from Italy would recognize at “Italian food”. For a city that is way overrated as a destination for Italian food, the restaurant does not disappoint!
Underrated and under appreciated, you should put this one on your list!
