We dropped by this place on a whim. We were hungry, and this place looked promising. We weren’t disappointed! Lunch was delicious, reasonable, and service was great!
"Philip Marie's in Greenwich Village is probably the best brunch place in all of New York City. This has been my go-to weekend brunch place for a very long time and all I can say is there nothing better than endless mimosas with their scrumptious Crab Cake Eggs Benedict breakfast. This place is usually pretty busy on the weekends, so they'll ask you if you have a reservation, but if you don't mind waiting, they will also usually find a way to squeeze you in if you're just going for a spur of the moment brunch date with friends. While the place is usually crowded, it's also the best place in the city for a chill brunch that is a lot of fun with great service. Highly recommended for those who are looking for some truly good food

Nice evening. We went on a Tuesday with a group of 4 of us on business in NYC. We had planned to go to another restaurant nearby but the wait was too long so we stopped at Philip Marie for no other reason than it was close and had available seating (and it looked like a nice restaurant). Our group was seated quickly and our service was at a leisurely pace, which was fine for us. 2 of us had the red snapper, which was very good. A nice, grilled filet on a bed of arugula with fruit garnish. It was very good. The rest of our party had a NY strip and the sea bass. Everyone thought the food was good. The steak looked great. My only complaint was that the restaurant is candlelit and it was very difficult to read the menus (we used our cell phones for lighting). The service was attentive but delivery of the food was slow. I would go back.
