Overall it was a good experience. I ordered the lasagna which was a good lasagna don't get me wrong, but it lacked a like "wow" factor to me. It was simply just a good lasagna if that helps. However the staff were great and everyone was very nice. They were all very nice and very knowledgeable about the food and drinks. The drinks were top tier though, I got the negroni classic and I loved it. I would have posted a photo of that here but I drank it before I thought of taking out my camera. Five stars on that.
The lasagna is mouth wateringly good. I dream about this lasagna. For drinks, you can’t go wrong with one of their special Negronis. If you like earthy cocktails, definitely try the Terra!
The only issue is trying to snag a table, but if you can get there early and put your name down (and you’re willing to wait) you can likely score seats at the bar.
The new space offers so many more seats than the original location and still manages to keep the cozy atmosphere.
At long last I got a res at the famed sister restaurant to Via carota, and boy oh boy is this the moody west village restaurant of your date night dreams. There’s something about the single row of tables, coupled with a gaggle of characters including investment bankers, young couples, old couples, new friends, old friends. The lasagna here is absolutely to die for, almost like a savory cake with sauce and decadent beefy flavor instead of a slice of sugar flour and frosting. Artichoke appetizer not to be missed. pork chop is a stunner. Go here to see and be seen.
