This was easily the most iconic Turkish dining experience I've had in the city. The flavors are nostalgic, but the dishes are truly inventive. The attention to detail in the menu, the execution of the dishes, and even the decor is unparalleled. I highly recommend the lentil köfte appetizer, it was so good it brought tears to my eyes. And the profiteroles are not to be overlooked on the dessert menu! Bring someone here to make an evening memorable. Maybe an old friend or a new love, because the staff's effusive hospitality and warmth will make you feel strongly connected to whoever you're with.
Finally, great Turkish Cuisine in New York! Do not miss this place, I promise you will definitely like it. Way better than the famous Mediterranean ilili on 5th Ave.
I went there for lunch with my family on Christmas Eve. Because NYC doesn't have a proper Turkish restaurant, I was with some reasonable suspicion, however this place was just perfect!
We tried so many different dishes, but I would like to point out some must-tries:
1. Grilled Iriskit & Hellim Cheese
2. Lamb Tenderloin Kebab
3. Nar Kebab
4. Zucchini Blossoms
Excellent location right off Park Ave and 20th St, and very very vegetarian friendly
The culinary experience was nothing short of exceptional, but I must admit that the prices left me a bit taken aback. Our bill came to $600 for a party of four, which is quite high. The intimate setting was cozy but slightly too snug for comfort. My only critique is that despite our significant expenditure, we didn't receive any complimentary items or even a little dessert on the house, which would have been a nice touch. Also, finding parking was a bit of a hassle.
