The First Course‎

The first course consists of platters of cold antipasto that look like lovely floral designs & include celery, melon, radishes, finocchio (a delicious italian winter celery), genoa salami, & a lorenzo salad created by signor lorenzo marchi.
Tuna Fish

Capers
Chopped Celery

The Second Course‎

Enjoy a steaming portion of lasagna, unlike anything you have ever tasted. The pasta, of course, is homemade, & the sauce, made by signor lorenzo marchi, is a family secret perfected only after many years of patient improvements.

Third Course‎

Next, you will be served delectably crisp, deep-fried fish, which virtually melts in your mouth. Savory cold beets & string beans are prepared w/ a simple oil & vinegar dressing to accompany it.
As w/ everything else you will taste at our restaurant, the flavors are delicate & subtle. Each dish has just a hint of something unusual in the way of seasoning to tempt your palate. Moreover, you can choose from an extensive wine list to accompany your magnificent meal.

Love everything about this amazing, hidden gem of a restaurant! It really does feel like you're eating at grandma's. And it has a romantic garden with a view of the Empire State Building. Cannot go wrong!

Still great - 40 years later. My husband and I have been dining at Marchi's whenever we get in to the City, for at least the past 40 years. This place is wonderful! It probably won't appeal to those who have only encountered heavily seasoned, garlicky, tomato-based "Italian", but if you have a discerning palate, their food is really special. Our particular favorites on their fixed menu are the (non-tomato-based) lasagne, and the crema fritta dessert. My only disappointment, if one can call it that, is that they have replaced the lovely whiting they used to serve as the fish course with cod.

YUP 61 years. It might seem hard to believe but we have been enjoying the food at Marchi's for 61 years. Frankly amazing how they have maintained the quality for so long. This should be a true winner for anyone looking for a first class dinner in mid-town.
