One of the best kept secrets of New York. Cheap pizza with a traditional 'New York' feel that's hard to come by nowadays. I've been going there since I was a kid, literally since before I can remember, so maybe there's a little bias to this review, but despite this place's drabby exterior and slightly rundown appearance, its easy to fall in love with the food and the amazing people who run it.
Don't let the outside appearance deceive you. Behind the typical pizza take-out in front is a wonderful restaurant in the back. Great food, generous portions, very reasonable prices. In NYC, no less.
Great pizza, ok atmosphere. The atmosphere is nothing stellar, and the service is efficient but not particularly friendly... but the pizza's taste and price make up for this. A large slice of cheese is a mere $2.50, one of the best values in the area. Beyond the price, though, it has a nice tomato and cheese flavor, and I actually prefer the taste to the pricier slices in the area. They also offer many different topping combinations - both vegetarian and meat - for about a dollar more.
