Food: Diner style, decent quality. Nothing seemed to be frozen/reheated, which was impressive. Great portion sizes. Breakfast/dinner served all day.
Service: Really good. No hovering, and frequent check-ups.
Atmosphere: Old 50’s diner. Black and white. Lots of pictures of old Hollywood elite. There is a smoking room.
Price: Cheap-ish. Averages around $9 per person with tax for a meal and drink.
Ate there every wed.excellent food.huge meals.reasonable prices.friendly wait staff.quick service.great coffee.
That Was Then This Is Now. I used to frequent this cafe three or so years back. At some point, a bad meat served by a crochety waitress sent me elsewhere. Now, 10/2011, I find myself living in the neighborhood. The help is friendly and the food is excellent. For breakfast, try "the Scrambler."
The diner was cute. The burgers are named after old movie stars! Even though the service wasn't the best and their chili cheese fries could use some work it was overall a good diner if you're passing by or something.
Great breakfast at a great price...all this for six bucks.
This place is so awesome. The biscuits are made fresh omg so good the gravy is made fresh. The service is fast, wonderful and friendly. The food came to the table just the way we ordered it. The temperature in the restaurant was good and all around a cozy environment. They have a separate smoking/vaping area as well.
The atmosphere is laid back and casual. They are a great place to have lunch. The food is home style and delicious. They also have a smoking section which if you are a smoker is a rare treat. But if you're not no worries there's a completely smoke free seating area as well.
My wife and friend took me to lunch for the first time here.OMG the food was fantastic and so much. Had the best lemon meringue pie in 60 years. The assistant manager waited on us. She was the bomb. Found my new favorite place. Thanks for a great experience.
We use to eat breakfast and dinner here every weekend until we moved but we still eat here just not as often. The food is delicious, the main original staff is wonderful and even the regular customers are sweet. It's a great family environment place to get wonderful food and good company. It also takes you back to the 50's with the pictures, decorations on the wall & the music they play.
We have been eating at 50s for over 30 years. Never a bad meal. Good service and an involved owner. Clean, reasonably priced and great food. I recommend 50's for a great eating experience. Just like you made it at home.
4 stars for good diner food. Nothing fancy. Smoking room is my favorite feature. Good prices on breakfast and daily specials. Good old boy regulars always furnish entertainment. Waitstaff have memories like elephants. They always remember how I take my coffee.
Good food at reasonable prices. The portions were very generous. I went for lunch and had a roast beef plate. The meat was good as well as the sides. Maybe it was just the day I was there but the kitchen was very slow.
AWESOME FOOD.
