We just moved to Jax and tried Jimmy Hula's for the first time...it was delicious! When I first saw the menu prices I was concerned since it is pricier than your typical burger and taco place. Now I know why: unique food items, fresh ingredients, amazing flavor combos and did I mention the several different types of fries?!?! This may have been our first visit but it certainly won't be our last to Jimmy Hula's Oakleaf!
The tacos here are amazing!!! They are packed and filled with so much flavor. I usually order three and get overly stuffed when I am done. The best part is when you grab the next taco and a new flavor explosion hits your taste buds. I have tried every taco and I would have to say the Kingston is the best and then the second would be the Jimichurri and third is the Killer. The restaurant is clean and the island like atmosphere is pretty cool. Customer service is ok. Last time I went my wife was a little disappointed. She ordered the the Gnarly nachos and after we already sat and waited for our food we were informed that they don't have any queso ready. We were given the option of waiting for 20 minutes or to go with out. I could understand maybe running out but we were the first customers in when they opened up. Overall this place is great and look forward to my future visits.
The manager Jeff is wonderful. He gave me a free meal one day when he saw that some teenagers was throwing mud over my car from the next lot. It was certainly random and out of nowhere but I am grateful for the awesome food!
Luis the bartender is great! An all around awesome person, very friendly and upbeat. Just what my son and I needed!! The food, as always, G.R.E.A.T.
5 stars because the cashier was super good at his job...-otherwise 3 stars. The food is mediocre at best. The Cajun seasoned fries are the only thing I would go back for. But I probably won't go back.
Good place to come for a quick bite. Food was really good but should practice better customer service.
Good tacos and a large selection. I wish the prices were not so high. 3 tacos and a drink should not cost around $15 especially on taco Tuesday
I used to go to this place pre pandemic for the best bar experience and food. I will say since C19 I haven’t ordered at the bar but I have gotten takeout. The J. Jovi burger is my all time fave. Always fresh always delicious. I will always say they have great tacos and bowls.
