The staff has a great knowledge of the menu and attention to detail. Classic diner experience with great pie! We get pie as an appetizer to avoid "leaving room for dessert". It's great! I'm a fan of the VIB breakfast for dinner.

Date of Visit: 10/2/2018 OVERVIEW - 4.4 Came here with my daughter for dinner as the wife was away, and I stink at cooking. LOCATION - 4 Village Inn has a pretty good location right there at the intersection of University Parkway and 200 East. The only unfortunate thing for them is the construction probably obstructs their view and traffic sometimes. PRICE - 4 The prices are comparable to most dine-in restaurants. I did come on a Wednesday night where kids eat free. PRODUCT/SERVICE - 5 I ordered the dish with Meatloaf, that's all I ever seem to order, because I love their meatloaf. It came with mashed potatoes, texas toast and french fries. POINTERS/PERKS - 5 Come on Monday or Tuesday where kids eat free. Wednesday they give you a free slice of pie. EMPLOYEES - 4 The waitress that served us was friendly. I think she was new as she seemed kind of young, and never really frequented our table checking on our drinks or anything... She also came in rather quick with her serving tray, and my daughters fries slid off the plate for the most part.

Our car broke down on the side of the road, and the kind waiter (Dylan) brought us some water, invited us in, and gave us some pie while we tried to figure out our car problem. I like their food, and the staff here are the nicest I've ever seen in a restaurant.

I am changing my review because I really appreciate the quick response to address my issue with service. I really want to thank the management team for taking my complaint (below) seriously and using it as a training opportunity. I felt heard and valued as a customer. Village Inn in East Bay Provo is MUCH better. Skillet dish was good, but my Bacon Avocado Chicken Ranch sandwich was missing ranch dressing and the chicken tasted like it was fried in old oil. Also, my server was awful. She spilled water on our table and didn't clean it up. Then I had to ask for my strawberry lemonade a second time and when I finally got it, it tasted like water with strawberry drizzled in it. When we got our food (which was actually brought out in a decent amount of time), she immediately put our food ticket on the table. She didn't bother asking if everything looked/tasted good or if we wanted dessert. She then disappeared and said she would be back in a couple of minutes with our cheesecake. I finally went to the front to pay for our ticket, asked the manager to remove my lemonade, and for boxes since our server vanished.

I gave this four stars because the breakfast was good and because they have a unisex bathroom for those who need that. The pie was great. They accommodated our large group and to the service was good. We never had to ask for a refill. The only thing I didn't like was the coffee but, everyone else didn't seem to mind it.

I absolutely love the service of this location. The staff is quick to help out, very attentive, and helpful. As far as the food goes, they cook their eggs expertly and I love their country potatoes. I had the eggs Benedict once and it was excellent as well. Their pancakes are somewhat mediocre as far as breakfast restaurants go, and their pie isn't as amazing as they claim it is, unfortunately. Though, I have only had the pie they give for free on Wednesdays (a great deal!) and not any of their specialty pies, which may be better.

I need to try more food before I finalize my rating. I had gotten a build your own breakfast with multi grain pancakes country potatoes, omelet, and oat meal. The pancakes seemed slightly doughy, but it was my first time doing multi grain pancakes, so maybe that's just how they are. The syrup was amazing though. The oatmeal, omelet, and country potatoes were really good too. The portion sizes we're good as well. Their kids meals were good and my 3 kids loved them more than other places. They have kids ice cream on that menu which was a nice addition. My wife got strawberry crepes and said they were good. Kids eat free with entree purchase on Monday and Tuesday, and they have free pie with entree purchase on Wednesday.

I've been coming here for a while, and I've got to say that today, I was majorly impressed. The food is about what you'd expect, aside from the pie which is fantastic. But man, the service! Dylan was amazing! Attentive, fast, friendly, and all around awesome. There were a few really large groups in the same time as me, so I was expecting the service to get bogged down, but nope. I'm impressed. Then I heard he had been there since 5am and was still bringing that energy... Wish he was working at my store ;)

I'm surprised I've not reviewed here before. It's a Sunday brunch standard for years. I don't come here much for lunch, and never for dinner. I was here for lunch this time. I had the chicken fried chicken. Not bad, nothing really special. That's the way most of the food is. Mass produced, OK. However, this place does it better than the local competition. Should you get Dylan, you're in great hands. We didn't and the service was no more than acceptable. At one point while we were hoping our server would find us, Dylan noticed and took care of us, even though it was not his area. The pies are always pretty good. So, more like 3.5 stars, but with no better options, I don't want to give it 3.

Will return - friendly staff and great food. One of the waiters actually calls out a greeting to everyone he recognizes, which was over half of the people who came in on this Saturday morning. He also brought out our daughter's food early, which kept her entertained. The food was also delicious.
