We were visiting from out of town and were looking for a place that could offer variety as our group could not decide the cuisine to have. This place did not disappoint. The drinks were great, the food was very tasty and the service was 1st class. My wife and I ended up visiting it a 2nd time.
I highly recommend it if you are in the Lake Nona area.
Lemon Chicken was delicious. I've never mixed lemony taste wiith potatoes but it was good. Mama's meatloaf was good too! I really enjoyed the cream corn that came with it. I highly recommend the carrot cake it literally melts in your mouth 🤤 Service took a bit but the experience was enjoyable
I've been hearing some pretty great things about Nona Blue from some pretty prominent people for quite some time, but just hadn't found the excuse to come and check it out. Well, one day recently, it placed on the list of best Lake Nona restaurants in the fine publication, Orlando Weekly, so that was enough for me, it was time to come and see what the fuss was all about.
I came, I parked, I sat. The place is really beautiful. Low light, classy bar right in the middle, looks like you could expect to see The Sopranos sitting in the corner conducting business. We got a wonderful server with a really sparkling personality. I'm glad he was a really cool dude, because for reasons I won't get into now, we got challenged to have our server choose our meal for us. And this guy did us right.
So we started off with the Blue Cheese Kettle Chips (Blue Cheese Béchamel / Chopped Bacon / Balsamic Glaze / Green Onions). Go look at this picture! This plate of nachos was constructed perfectly. Béchamel everywhere, bacon very well distributed, glaze over every corner, and enough green onion to give that pop of freshness you need in a heavy app like this. Just lovely.
Then I got my entrée, the Baby Back Ribs, with a side of some cheesy broccoli. Man, I haven't had ribs like this in a long time. Falling off the bone, charred in just enough spots, enough sauce to let the meat still be the star of the show. I was very impressed. I would expect ribs like this from a high-end barbecue joint, not a place like this, so they really delivered here.
I also got to try a special that was on their menu for a limited time, a red snapper on top of pearl couscous, with a side of their ridiculous mac 'n' cheese. The fish was cooked Perfectly. Very moist and flakey with juuust enough seasoning crusted on the outside. Very nice, herby couscous for a fun masago-like texture in your mouth with the bites of fish. It was just a really nice dish. Hope they have it when you go.
So yea, that's it. The food was really top notch, the service was top notch, and the atmosphere was very quiet and relaxing and elegant. I recommend this place through and through.
