I love this place off the beaten path. We drove 14 hours and were ready to eat some fresh seafood. We had the Cajun fish with onion rings and cheese grits 2 hush puppies, clam strips fries coleslaw hush puppies and a burger with fries and hush puppies all of it was really delicious and a great portion sizes! The price for what we got was great as well. There is a cute Lil shop to explore before finding your way to the dining area. A gorgeous dock to enjoy birds and water and sunshine! I highly recommend checking this place out.
My husband and I decided to try out Boon Docks and was not disappointed. I ordered the grilled shrimp with peppers and onions with a side of cheese grits and onion rings with sweet tea. The shrimp was seasoned just right & grilled perfectly the onion and peppers set the shrimp off the onion rings were fried golden brown cheese grits was delicious not everyone can make good sweet tea but they do. My husband had fried shrimp with fries and slaw he said they was great. We shared the tuna dip it was awesome.
On a recent visit to Panama city, a colleague said we should try this place for dinner. The name is quite appropriate, as it is in the middle of nowhere, although very pretty and on the water. Driving there at night on a full moon was a bit eerie, especially with Halloween coming next week. Our server was super friendly. We ordered the cheese burger and a grilled Mahi dinner, and both were good. They came with onion rings and fries. The place is definitely a local hangout and it's authentic to the area. They have a shop on the way out, like many of the restaurants in the area. If you want a feel for where the locals eat, this is your place.
Very cool atmosphere. Under the bridge under some oak trees. Good selection of food. Everything was good. Portions were OK. Service was very good. We will be back.
This place is absolutely gorgeous. But be prepared to wait. We waited 2 hours for a table…and it is a drive from PCB. Service was ok. Food was good! We had crab claws, and an everything seafood platter. We did had someone with us who ordered popcorn shrimp that was extremely fishy. Other than that everything was good.
Boon Docks is always a go-to for us when we are in PCB. I’m going to be completely honest tho. It’s bc of my husband. He used to live in PCB and has always loved this place! I’m personally not a huge fan of the food. My husband, son, and our friends absolutely LOVE the food! I don’t feel it’s fair for me to give a bad rating bc it doesn’t fit “my” tastes when everyone else I know loves it! However I did drop 1 star on the food and overall rating bc this review is supposed to be based on my opinion. The service has always been amazing and the view is great!
The blue crab 🦀 claws were well seasoned but small. My order was messed up but they gave me the right fish (catfish) and I was able to keep the other (swai). Food was delicious 😋 the view and atmosphere were nostalgic and beautiful. I normally don't eat hush puppies (dry and hard); however, something was in these because they were cooked perfectly: full of flavor, balanced texture, fresh, and hot. I mean, how are they soft moist on the inside and crunchy but not hard on the outside? I thought the scallops were also very small. They cook it with onions and bell peppers.
We ate at Boondocks several years ago and never made it back until this week. It was great back then and great this time also. The atmosphere, food, and staff were wonderful. We sat at the bar to avoid a long wait for a table. Winter was our bartender and server. She was awesome! They also had a gift shop with cute things! Hopefully it won’t be as long a time in between visits again.
Hidden gem! I needed to stop for lunch on the way to the airport and this place was amazing. The venue was a cool rustic house on the docs with amazing views. Service was efficient and very friendly. Food was very good as well. I had the gumbo, a shrimp Po boy, and peanut butter pie. I will definitely be back!
This place was so great! It is a very laid back and hometown atmosphere with that extra plus of being on the water. This place has definitely become our "must eat here" whenever we come to PCB.
