Good drinks, fresh cold oysters. Grilled shrimp was great. Nice family and informal atmosphere. I would recommend it. Entertainment was just okay.
Everyone knows Panama City Beach as the “Redneck Riviera” and the strip is as commercialized as any section of beach anywhere in the United States. The epitome of this tourist trap can be embodied in a place called Hammerhead Fred’s. While I expected little but a great experience here, I was really pleased we came here as our first stop for a proper meal on our road trip.
We arrived around 6 on a Friday night and while it was busy we were seated within 15 minutes. Our waiter, I'll call him A.B because that is what it sounded like and I didn't catch his name tag, was attentive although we did have to ask for straw and more napkins. I think the super high backed booths makes it hard to see the diners. I had the crab stuffed bacon wrapped shrimp.The shrimp themselves were cooked perfectly. I didn't see much crab and the bacon was not very crisp but I can see how that would be hard to do and keep the shrimp from being over cooked. Everyone enjoyed their meal.
Had the oyster sampler platter . It was awesome ! This is second time this week we ate here . Food was good and live music was good . Atmosphere is great .
Great atmosphere, young service. My only complaint was the service. Our server was really nice and happened to be dealing with a large table at the same time so we had to wait for our checks longer than expected. and there was another guy walking around with two plates and he had no idea where to bring them. what I think is worse was none of the other workers helped him figure out whom the food belonged to.
Service was really good. Good was really good. I had the catch of the day with grilled shrimp and scallops and it was phenomenal! However, it wasn't as good as the price would've said it was. Next time, we probably won't come back because of the price.
Awesome food. Great atmosphere! One of the best places to eat in Panama City in my book!

Was better than the reviews made it seem. Me, my parents, and my sister went there for dinner on July 12th, 2013 and we all walked away satisfied.
I had the oysters rockefeller, which were very nice. The oysters had a generous helping of cheese and spinach and were broiled just long enough to get them melty, which left the oysters still somewhat raw which is how I think it should be.
Both of my parents got the Ol' Biloxi Combo and were both happy with what they received. The blackened fish wasn't too spicy, and was tasty. My father especially liked the crab cake that came along with it. I finished off his side of potato bites that came along with it and were much better than I expected for what seemed a rather mundane side. My sister had the Fred's "FEEDING FRENZY" which was way more food than she expected. The chicken tenders were standard affair as were the cheese sticks, but who goes to a seafood place for that anyhow? the fired pickles, however, were fairly nice.
the only complaint I have is that for drinks, I ordered a frozen alcoholic beverage, some strawberry and coconut thing, my mom ordered a margarita, and my sister a virgin margarita. Mine and my sister's came in a tall souvenir cup while my mom's came in a standard glass. the menu made no distinction between why and the waiter never mentioned this. The best we can figure is mine and my sisters were frozen and hers was on the rocks, as that was the only difference, therefore hers came in a regular glass.
The atmosphere is nice, standard PCB vibe, and we were sat in a new expanded area so it wasn't overly crowded at the time we went (around 6:30) but we drove by later and it was completely packed.
Went for drinks. Awesome drink menu and great prices compared to area bars. Would recommend just because of outside atmosphere and music!
Pretty good. This resteraunt is decent, but not the best in PCB. We shared the blackened grouper with basil cream sauce. This was a great choice. For a side we had seafood mac and cheese. The taste was good, but it looked old, and the noodles were somewhat rubbery. We were a bit late in getting there, so maybe this was what was left from lunch, and no new for supper yet. I would go again.
This was my first time here and it was good a good experience. The grilled oysters in so many different flavors are an excellent choice. A special shout out to my server Alexis for doing such a wonderful job considering how busy it was in there. I give them a thumbs up.

Overall we enjoyed our dinner visit to Hammerhead Fred's. My wife had grilled shrimp and said it was good. I had a blackened Cajun chicken sandwich and it was ok. It had way too much seasoning on it. I understand blackened chicken requires a lot of seasoning, but it was way too much on this sandwich. We sat outside and there was live music, which was fun. The service was ok. We would probably go back again.

We tried to eat here a few nights earlier, but there was a 45-minute wait. Sadly, we decided to eat elsewhere... BIG MISTAKE! We made it in for lunch on a Friday before our flight out of town; it was fantastic!! We walked right in and had the entire staff serving our needs. Apparently, lunch is not anywhere as busy as the dinner party rush. We saw the stage, the outdoor seating, and the Spring Break party scene that we had missed a few nights earlier. Next time, we will gladly wait the 45-minutes.
If you like oysters, you'll love this place. I am not a big lover of seafood, but I still thoroughly enjoyed the crab-stuffed jumbo shrimp. The parmesan crusted flounder was out-of-this-world, and their garlic cheese curds appetizer was sensational! My daughters were done with seafood, so they got the pound of wings... another homerun! This was a fantastic way to end our Spring Break in Panama City Beach!
Fun restaurant with a great deal of shark memorabilia. Wait time was minimal and service was excellent. Food was very good, seafood in particular. Live music while we ate on the patio.
It was ok. Food took a while, but it’s season still.
There was no option for the pasta being made AL DENTE because it’s pre cooked.
Steak didn’t come like we ordered, it should be well done and it came medium, we had to ask to redo, but they did it with no problems.
Overall experience was good.
