Cracker Barrel has been a favorite of mine for at least 30 years. The food has always been consistent and well prepared. The very worst service I've ever gotten from a server at Cracker Barrel was pretty doggone good considering some other places I've been.
I had the meat loaf and potatoes, mashed, with turnip greens on the side and biscuit. The meatloaf was good. The potatoes were good but the gravy was cold. I prefer my meals to be hot. It was all good though. I didn't send anything back. My plate was clean when we left, so although the food was nothing to write home about ... it must have been pretty good. The best part of the meal was the biscuits. I do wish they would warm the butter a little bit. It's hard getting those little rocks of butter to spread on a lukewarm biscuit. Maybe there's a trick to that that I don't know about.
Staff was friendly. Waitress was on point and always checking in. No wait time to be seated. Food came out fast and they were pretty busy at 10am on a Friday. Had a mimosa and the Grandma's Sampler Pancake Breakfast and it was very consistent with other locations.
Ordered the grilled catfish, 2 piece dinner. Had to send it back because it didn't seem to be grilled properly. The staff and management were very tentative and re-did the order to my satisfaction. Speedy recovery and terrific customer service. Will definitely return.
