Fresh, fast, and with that Italian thing that makes their sandwiches special. Bike over and grab a table to watch boats large and small slide past on the mighty Delaware. Shanks is a great spot, and can make your afternoon better. If you're under 160 lbs, you may want to split their sandwiches with a friend–they are not petite! The eggplant/tomato/provolone is my fave, but working my way through the menu. Break off part of your roll to keep those sparrows fat. --mcget / trophy bikes PHL

Hands down this is the best cheesesteak in the city right now. jim's is a lsoe second. The Pat's ad Geno's steaks are dirt by comparison. They live in fame that they dont still deserve. Shanks brings a tender flavorful meat, fresh bread, a nice sized steak, friendly service. The best.
