This place used to be called Slainte. They’ve since revamped their menu and rebranded. It’s still an awesome place to grab a pint of Guinness and unwind with the lads
This place is awesome. Me and my bf hang there on a Friday or Saturday night after work. They know my bf which is cool. Their fish platter is so good. I love the strongbow. It's fun, clean and the staff is very nice.
One word...AMAZING! I passed by this spot for years but finally decided to look at the menu and give it a go for lunch. Sat at the bar and bartender was awesome and so attentive. Dining room crowd came in all of a sudden and seemed to be a hit for everyone. Fish sandwich is so good (get all the fixins). I was really hoping for fresh cut fries given the quality of the sandwich (I'm a fry fanatic). Bathrooms super clean and staff friendly I'll definitely be back!
Standard Irish/sports bar. Only stopped in for a brew. Not pretentious Fair selection of beers. Polite, knowledgeable, and friendly staff. Can't say anything about the food as I didn't order. If I were in the neighborhood, I would stop in again.
Absolutely phenomenal. First meal upon visiting philly, had an awesome waitress. Told her it was our first time in Philadelphia and she and the hostess gave tons of recommendations for different places to go. Food and beer service was fast and delicious as well. Great location across from the 30th street station. Highly recommended!
This is one of my favorite bars in the city. An Irish pub catty corner to 30th Street Station, it's hard to beat this location for convenient inter-train drinks. The drink specials could be a little better, but the staff makes up for it. They're really pleasant, and always happy to give legit recommendations. The food is excellent, especially the Irish-inspired dishes like Shepherd's Pie or bangers and mash. Usually pretty low key, not often too packed after happy hour, this place is still very comfortable.
Also, you literally walk up the stairs from the MFL and you're at the front door. Hard to beat that.
Spent afternoon/evening whilst waiting for night bus to New York. Great rest spot food good not expensive. Staff good. Music good. What's not to like if you are into architecture check out Penn Station.:)
I visit The Market Tavern usually about two times a week it's always a great experience one of the bartender's name is Jeremy always comes in and greets me with a smile and shakes my hand. The food is good I usually get one of the soups of the day and they pour as you can see the most perfect glass of Guinness believe me it tastes as good as it looks.
Other excellent bartenders are Paul and Anthony and pretty much everyone who works here provides great service my favorite stop.
