We came here for dinner on a Wednesday night. It wasn’t that busy (but was busier after we were there).
You go up to the counter and order your food for either take out or dine in. Prices are good and the food was yummy!
We got a fry bread beef taco (red chili), a cinnamon sugar fry bread, a beef vegetable stew, and a “quail” kids plate (fry bread with cheese).
The stew was really good, very comforting and nicely flavored. The red chile beef taco was super yummy, the sauce had some depth to it, very good!
The fry breads themselves are pretty good, they’re thick, with a chewy almost crunch to them. Overall very good. I really enjoyed this meal, check it out it’s worth trying!!
The place was clean and staff were friendly.
Finally had a chance to visit while in Phoenix. Honestly, one of the best fry bread you can find coming from a restaurant. It wasn't too chewy, undercooked, or crispy. It was a very adequate piece of fry bread. I don't think it's worth $5 ea but definitely tasty.
I had the ultimate taco with green chili. A very interesting experience as I've only really eaten indian tacos flat and not actually like a taco like every other patron was doing (maybe a regional thing?). Meat tasted great, bread was good, and had great flavor. Only con about my meal was that the bread was a little overdone.
This place seems like people come because of its reputation, natives liking the food, people on lunch break to grab a great meal, and just regulars. It was a nice mix of people who I saw come through.
If I was in the area, I would definitely come again and try more of their options.
Finally got to stop in for lunch, and it was absolutely worth the trip! Local Phoenician and I can’t believe we hadn’t been here sooner. The Ultimate Taco with red chili beef was delightful to the very last bite. The ingredients are fresh and you can tell that everything is cooked with love-their food soothes the soul!🥰 Hubby loved the beef taco🌮, superb crunchy fry bread with the perfect consistency. Another highlight was the green chili beef stew; it’s super spicy but in the best way if you like the spice. The hominy stew is great as well, light and flavorful! Atmosphere is very chill, and there are local vendors outside with beautiful artisanal goods. Must visit 5🌟
