I wonder what’s up with the low rating for this amazing place - the ambience, service, food - all of it is an experience. They’re famous for the Sunday brunch which is $30+ per person of unlimited food and non-alcoholic beverages. And with food I would like to emphasize the variety - waffles, donuts, pancakes, eggs - all freshly made; bacon, wedges, and usual breakfast grub plus a host of desserts to choose from. Even as a vegetarian I had so many options that I couldn’t possibly try them all!
We recently had our wedding at the Grand Concourse, and we couldn't have asked for a better venue. There were two managers helping us plan everything and answering all of our questions for months before the wedding.Thank you Brian and Dawn!
We consistently hear that it is the best wedding that our family/friends have been to, and it doesn't seem like they are just embellishing for our benefit. The venue is obviously beautiful, and the food was the best I've had at a wedding. The service was superb as well. Susan and Colin (lead servers) took amazing care of us. We never had to wait for anything we needed, and all of our guests were taken care of as well.
There were some cool and unique touches too. The bar can be placed in a separate room, which really helped cut down on the noise so that people could talk easily during dinner. Getting married on the middle platform of the beautiful stairwell made you feel like you were on a pedestal, which was really cool. We also got the donut machine that they offer, and it was a much bigger hit than we expected!
We definitely recommend the Grand Concourse for anyone having a wedding in the Pittsburgh area.
Environment and service: 5/5. Food: 3.5/5. And in my opinion, the food makes the meal. I think the Concourse gets by on being immaculate in appearance and experience, while having not overly impressive food. For that reason, it makes for a pleasant trip, but I do not think the food alone justifies the prices.
