It should be no surprise that our recent adventures to Pittsburgh (read about them here and here) included breakfast explorations. The Saturday morning of our stay there, we managed to catch up with Rick Sebak, producer for WQED Pittsburgh, and he recommended Pamela’s P&G Diner in Millvale for Sunday breakfast. There are six Pamela’s Diners spread around greater Pittsburgh, and Rick named the Millvale stop as one of his favorites. And when Rick suggests a breakfast on his home turf of Pittsburgh – you go!

Classic staple of Pittsburgh. I like this location because it's usually never too crowded which is great! Banana walnut pancakes are a must and everyone there is so friendly. Don't miss out.

The service was slow and lacking but it's pretty typical diner service. The food was very good and the atmosphere was unique.

Yes, we read the reviews. We have read the reviews and have been constantly concerned that the service is not up to our standards. Please forgive us. We have made some staff changes and expect our servers to be BETTER than most. If you are not treated with friendly fast service, please talk to Jennifer. We hate bad service even more than you!

Wonderful breakfast! Coffee is not at all thin as other has suggested, take this 30 year trucker veteran's word for that! Reminds me of a place i used to go in iron city every time I had a delivery nearby from the deep south. I used to look forward to those times too. The banana walnut pancakes are a must, no syrup needed. And the staff is very friendly, the place is packed often, get a grip folks. The place would be empty only if it weren't any good.

Great value. Two people run $8 for breakfast and we usually can't finish all of it. Their service is fast and polite and the restaurant is clean. I highly recommend this place for breakfast or lunch if you are in the area. It's a reasonable diner that reminds me of how they were in the 50's and 60's.

Excellent Breakfast!. My wife & I met her parents there for breakfast this morning, and the place was hoppin'. I was the only one of the four of us who hadn't been there before. I really liked the old time feel, with the gift shop & drug store attached. I collect antique bottles, so it was cool to see a display above the counter.

All the meals are reasonably priced. I believe the prices are cheaper at this location than they are at the Mt. Lebanon one... Go figure, ha ha ha.

I had the corned beef hash with eggs, it was cooked with a nice amount of potatoes, some onions, and (salty) corned beef. I also had two eggs over easy & they were cooked perfectly.

My wife & mother-in-law both had the strawberry filled crepes, and my father-in-law had the California french toast... "Excellent breakfast" seemed to be the consensus.

I would have liked a refill on my iced tea, and the waitress never did check on us after the food was delivered... although another waitress passing by with a coffee pot did refill my father-in-law's coffee without prompting. But... the place was packed, and there was a line almost out the door by the time we left... so some confusion is excusable at that point... and because of the overall quality of the experience in my opinion.

If you're in hungry in Millvale or the surrounding area and it's breakfast time, I suggest you check out Pamela's!

Very very nice. I like this place a lot. I don't know how they are associated with the other Pamela's, because this site does it right. The food is good, filling, and relatively inexpensive. You can also get special sodas here. There often is a wait, but it is worth the wait. The tables are spaced enough that it does not feel crowded.

An added bonus is the area. Stop by the French bakery, the hobby shop, and a few other nearby shops that seem unique.

P&G Diner in Millvale had MASSIVE amounts of delicious foods for breakfast or lunch. I have to say next to the pancakes, their Lyonaisse style breakfast potatoes are simply heaven. Dave and I each ordered the Lincoln Breakfast and my eyes popped out of my head when our plates arrived. (Totally beats IHOP’s Pancake Combo in terms of taste, price and quantity of food). President Barack Obama knows what I’m talking about when I say Pamela’s Pancakes are uniquely awesome.

Fun and interesting place for down to earth food for breakfast or brunch and the portions are good. The hotcakes are really good which is a crossover between pancakes and crepes with thin and crispy parts on the outer rims. The food came out very fast. This place is inside a historical pharmacy which has been open since 1928. A must try in Millvale PA and there are other locations but just not one that is inside a pharmacy.

First time here, and it didn't disappoint. There is usually a line which deterred me in the past just by looking at it, but they turn tables pretty quick. There were only a few of us, so we were able to expedite seating by choosing to sit at the counter. The service was top notch, very friendly. I had chicken and waffles and a side of the lyonnaise potatoes. Truthfully, I found the potatoes kinda, meh, nothing special. The chicken and waffles were OUT of this world tho. My daughter went with banana and chocolate hot cakes, which also did not disappoint. Bring cash, or use the on site ATM for a $2.50 fee.

I could rave about everything I ate here. The pancakes here are not like a typical pancake. They have a crispness to the edges that crunches but do not taste overcooked. The pancakes are still very fluffy and flexible. I am impressed by the ability to accomplish both crispy and soft on the same pancake. The Greek omelet had beautifully balanced flavors! This is a dish I would recommend, for sure, and I, personally, am very picky about how I like olives. The potatoes were perfect. They tasted better than they looked, and potatoes are already a beautiful thing. Lastly, I indulged on an orange dream milkshake. The milkshake was a generous size and very tasty. All of whom are responsible for this menu deserve a round of applause.

We really loved our experience breakfast here. We needed a quarter for the meter and the gut at the counter just gave us one and told us to put it on the bill. Loved that. The pancakes are more like crepes and are amazing!! We will be going back again soon for breakfast and probably will go for lunch as well.

Every member of the staff is awesome. The menu takes staple items but presents them in unique ways so its not the same old breakfast stuff. The look an feel of the old pharmacy/diner blends well and gives a great sense of respect to the history of not just the business but of the town. Two amazing things is they have red devil hot sauce, the best kind there is and they have a pride flag prominently displayed. This place is worth a visit even if u have to travel from far away.

It's the best breakfast food out there in the area of Milvale. I have enjoyed the food the best item are the pancakes. It's like a dessert. I am always excited to try something on the menu. I can't say enough about the phosphate sodas they are really great! I would say to come through for the food as well as the service. The only draw back is they're super busy during the weekends and have limits on their food menu items. So be willing to wait. Also make sure to have cash because they are cash only.

We were greeted straight away and lucky on a Sunday to get a seat before the lines started. We ordered coffee which is quite good. Then the western omelette and 3 famous crepe pancakes. Service was great, love the back in time atmosphere and quality of food and service. The best diner in my opinion in the area.

We were in the Pittsburgh area for the weekend and stumbled upon this restaurant quite by accident. It shares the space with a pharmacy and is close to 100 years old. It was packed for brunch, and we had to wait in line for a while, but it moved quickly. Obviously quite popular because it's so good. Great food and very friendly staff. My only regret is that I forgot the leftovers that I'd packed but I think about those Lyonnaise potatoes and crepe-like pancakes every now and again. They're both fabulous! The coffee was good too!
