Brioche Doree is one of the best spots in Oakland. If I have to meet someone in the area early (they close at 3 pm, sadly) I always ask them to meet me at Brioche Doree. It's nice and never too busy. Brioche Doree is in the University Club building, so it might seem off limits, but it's a public cafe (you don't have to be a member or faculty).

Excellent coffee, where you can find most of the Italians work at Pitt for they coffee break. Sandwiches are also great and the Danish pastries are delicious. Good value for money.

Best service in Pittsburgh. Great coffee and breakfast selection is excellent. The prices are low, especially when compared to national or regional competitors. A++
