The most delicious and authentic Italian by a true chef who has passion in the kitchen. The chef Marco has a heart of gold and the love he puts into his food is noticed. Every bite was scrumptious. The atmosphere is lovely and quaint. Service is delightful. Hands down a favorite place to eat.
The food and service was really good ..The star were the deserts ! We ordered both Creme brulle and Walnut tart and both were amazing!! Walnut tart was very unique and something that we have never tasted.. The ambience is okay, we expected it to be a lot better looking at the rating.
Gilda's is a great spot for some Italian fare. We started out with a classic caesar salad and also had their burrata appetizer, and both were delicious. I had the Papardelle Salsiccia, and it was *chef's kiss* so good!! Their pasta is fresh and the sauce was perfectly seasoned. Their restaurant had a small cozy dining area with a lounge area in the back. One of my favorite parts was seeing all the old family photos on the walls, of the owner and their fam. I definitely give my experience two thumbs up and I absolutely plan on going back!
My husband and I dined in the cozy lounge where we were able to choose from three menus! Chef Marco delivered our Veal and Maui Maui entrees. Both were cooked to perfection with savory sauces and vegetables. We highly recommend this place for lunch or dinner:)

One of the very best burrata salads we’ve had. Beautifully seasoned and generous. It could be a luncheon meal.
Paul had their pork and beef meatballs, which had a surprising, silky texture. We hope the owner sells those nationally!

Turns out, Essential Confection’s flagship cheesecake is the restaurant’s best selling dessert!

Our second time going to this wonderful restaurant. Tonight the chef made eggplant parm by request. Thank you chef! It was fantastic. Dessert…blueberry fig pie by local pastry chef Linda Naylor of Essential Confection. Great service, great atmosphere and real italian food. Everything is made fresh. Can’t wait to come back!
This was our Second time going to this restaurant and again was more than impressed. Our waiter was extremely attentive and outgoing without being too bothersome. The atmosphere is great, as well as the location in downtown Portland. Now the food was over the top. I ordered the barata ravioli with crab meat and a white sauce, this was a special offered and this was the highlight of the evening, in my opinion. A friend ordered the mahi-mahi special, he also spoke very highly of the dish. My wife had Pappardelle with house- made sausage and noodles. This place is definitely top-notch, we cannot wait to venture back. We made the drive from Vancouver, but it's so worth it.
Good food, good service, good atmosphere. Dined alone and Nico, my server, made me feel welcome and included. He also had great dessert suggestions!
Even better than I remembered! I had the pasta w/seafood and upgraded to gnocchi. The excellent seafood with the soft potato pillows and a touch of red sauce was out of this world good!!!
I’d say it’s a strong 4 star rating. We ordered beer, white wine, calamari, and mushroom pizza.
Firstly, the customer service was amazing, one of the best we’ve ever had. They’re great. Though I remember talking to this lady on the phone asking something and she wasn’t friendly and didn’t want to ask kitchen a question I had.
Regarding drinks - they don’t have draft beer, just a heads up, but my husband liked their canned IPA. The white wine I ordered wasn’t very good quality in my opinion.
Calamari - wasn’t bad but over salted.
Pizza - was a bit burned at the bottom and a bit fryer crust than I’d like but wasn’t the worst pizza I’ve tried.
To be honest, I wouldn’t come back but I get it why people might like this place.
