I've been eating the #17 large here for at least 10 years and it never fails to cure hangovers, colds, and weather-related dysthymia. The service is quick and the prices are great. Some places charge up to $13 bucks for a bowl of pho (hello Fish Sauce? LOL), but not these guys. I also love the success story of the family.
I'm obsessive about my broth and I can tell you that the best time to eat is around 3pm. This falls between the lunch and dinner rushes and they usually seem to have a fresh run of broth that is teeming with beef fat globules and more intense flavors. Plus, there aren't a lot of people around which makes the service even better.
Def my favorite Pho spot in Portland
Unquestionably the best Pho Ga in town.
The PHO KING BOMB! Great deal for pho and the broth was one of the best I've had.
I love Pho Hung because everyone who works there is super nice and they have amazing soup. If you haven't been there before, you should really go.
Best Damn Pho Period!. I absolutely love Pho and have been to numerous places both here in the Portland metro area and elsewhere. Pho Hung is by far my favorite Pho restaurant. They have fast and friendly service and excellent food. I highly recommend them.
The best Pho in Portland metro area. They have added a few locations and all serve same menu. Simple and very flavorful.
The ingredients were fresh. Staff were very polite and helpful. Dishes were well cooked and had great flavor.
Pho, Bun, & ice coffee. Are very good here. Surprised they aren't in a bigger spot.
Best Pho Ga. We love Pho Hung and our toddler always eats really well when we come here! We love the service-always friendly and attentive.
Very tasty and fresh. Best beef stew ever had anywhere, with the right amount of spices. The vermicelli salad with the fish stuffed fried tofu skins was also tasty.
Out in Portland. Ample parking. Open dining area really spacious. Hostess / service was great . We had the lemongrass chicken and the beef stew. The food was OK. First time without picked salad, had broccoli. The chicken seemed a little dry but all chopped up in small pieces. The beef stew / noodles was good-consistency with mild spicy-ness. Would recommend the beef stew.
My favorite Pho restaurant in PDX! Local joint. Great beef pho for a good price. Fast service. Clean space. Weekend or weekdays, there’s always people.
Excellent pho! The broth is clear and super flavorful. The portion size is huge - I would’ve been satisfied with the small. The teriyaki chicken is also some of the best I’ve had in Portland. I will likely be back just for that and the crispy fried spring rolls. All around great place!!
Good to re-visit. Used to come often.
Last time I visited was around 25 years ago lol
It was around $5 at that time I think.
Being Vietnamese myself and being from the bay area I grew up with home made pho and many authentic pho restaurants at every corner. Therefore, I am very picky about the pho restaurants I go to due to my high standards.
So I read reviews about how great the broth is at this place. I take reviews for pho restaurants with a grain of salt in the portland area because sometimes they're often provided by folks who never really had authentic pho.. But I gave it the benefit of the doubt and told my friend I wanted to try this place. She agreed.
Got seated right away at 1130am. Our food order came out pretty fast. I got the Hu Tieu and it came with a fried chicken leg. The chicken leg was very very dry but the Hu Tieu was soooooo good. The broth was on point and it reminded me so much of home (which says a lot). It had so much flavor and a great balance of all the aromatics and spices. While I must tried the Hu Tieu, I have no doubt that the pho is equally as good because of the similar broth that is used between the two.
Service was decent and even though it was getting busy, we did not feel rushed to leave
My friend ordered the banh mi sandwiches and she said it was really good. I didn't try it but I made a mental more to buy one in the future.
It did get loud and busy for the next hour and a half we were there. So this place does get busy. I plan on coming back here with my bf.
The reason for my minus 1 star is that the dishes are kind of expensive for the type of food that is being offered.
You can say I found the new new favorite Vietnamese restaurant in town😍
The broth is so flavorful, and creamy almost. It is SOOO good, so far tried a few different dishes (take out for most of them so don’t have good pictures, will update if I get more) but none of it has let me down. Its 👌🏻👌🏻(chefs kiss) lol
Always our favorite. We eat weekend brunch here weekly. Great for a hangover.
This place was fantastic! Had a lazy Sunday where I was craving some pho and decided to search for the best pho restaurant near me in and this place was a standout. It had received lots of so we decide to go here and we're not disappointed. Some of the best I've ever had in my life and it was all affordable.
I highly recommend would definitely come back here again wish I took photos.
Very good phò soup 🍲. Awesome bhan mi sandwich with fluffy french 🥖 bread. Very snappy service, very clean. You would be hard pressed to find a better spot to meet your Vietnamese cuisine needs.
