My wife, (girlfriend at the time) went into this bakery to have them make our wedding cake. We were greeted and sat down with some coffee and enjoyed the atmosphere that surrounded us. After a few minutes, one of the workers came over with some cake and frosting samples. We sampled a wide veriety before making our final choices for a 3 tier wedding cake. I have to say that our experience there was absolutely wonderful! They delivered our wedding cake on the day of our wedding and it was absolutely delicious!!!! I have been eating all the leftovers ever since, and will definitely go back with any of our special needs for sweets!!! Thank you so much for a wonderful experience!!!! A+++++

Have been a customer of this bakery since a friend told me about it-a number of years ago. Love the freshness and quality of bakery goods with no greasy "off" taste in the mouth afterwards. I am partial to the melt-in-your-mouth scones, the lemon ginger-my personal favorite (you will never want a scone from anywhere else!) although the lemon cake is pretty awesome, too! Did I mention a mocha cake from His Bakery make a cake lover out of my hubby (a nigh-unto-impossible-task?) Success! If you like to support small family businesses that are up to the task of providing quality baked goods for any occasion (they do my holiday and special occasion desserts), look no further than His Bakery!
Ordered a cake for my sons second birthday and it came out wonderful! The woman behind the counter, when I ordered it and came to pick up, was just delightful each time and the cake decorator I talked to was very nice also. Just a wonderful experience all around. I am going here from now on for any party function I have in the future. Only down side I would say is now I'm addicted to their scones! They are amazing!
I ordered a red velvet cake for my daughter's engagement dinner. Even though I gave them only a few days notice, they were able to produce a beautiful cake (with sunflowers on it--my daughter's favorite flowers). It is the ONLY cake my daughter and fiancé like, so I was EXTREMELY pleased. The cake was DELICIOUS-- everyone had a piece.
I only wish they would also sell sandwiches at the SE location, like they do in their Oregon City one.
I have ordered from them since 2006, when I found out about His Bakery, and will continue to do so in the future.
I have often heard folks say this is hands down the best bakery in Portland and I will have to say I completely agree. We've been going here almost every weekend for three years now and our selections never disappoint. The cakes are also wonderfully decorated whether custom ordered or bought from under the display glass. It's also our go-to spot when we are bringing a dessert for a dinner party and I swear we always hear so many compliments about the dessert and there is never a single piece remaining. This is not one of the more organic/vegan/gluten free bakeries in town, it's a classic butter and cream bakery so don't expect a lot of alternative options to traditionally baked goods. Regardless, the desserts are as beautiful as they are delicious.
Local Mom and Pop shop serving delicious muffins, scones, and cookies. Especially known for their fancy and flavorful cakes. They do custom designs - they created a Thomas the Tank Engine image for my son's 3rd birthday. He loved it!
Their banana cake with whipped cream is amazing. But I have to recommend their cookies. They are soft and chewy. I'm not the biggest fan of chocolate chip cookies, but I will definitely go back for more.
I purchased my Wedding Cake from His Bakery. It was excellent! Delivered on time, affordable, delicious. The whole experience was excellent.
