Words do not do any justice to how juicy and well meranated the Buffalo chicken strip were. You get 2 well sized strips just lathered in there. What I assume to be homemade Buffalo sauce?
That plate alone was just under $10. Drinks always slapped as well. TVs all around to give you that ESPN feel. Pool tables and Lotto machines were the cherry on top. Whether it's for lunch or dinner or catching the fights, You won't go wrong stopping at The Wooden Chicken.

I discovered this place back when I used to be a shot girl in my twenties and I hadn’t been back till today, and I’ve been missing out.
The staff are fantastic, the service is quick and if you’re sitting at the bar you’re definitely gonna make friends.
Wonderful dive bar on steroids. It's a big spot and would be great for the guys getting together for the game. Decent TV's, good selection of bar food, inexpensive place to eat. Service was a little scarce when we were there

If you Love the 80s, then this is your spot. TV on sports ,music from the 70s and 80s. The Foods is good to almost great 👍. Chicken Cordon blue bites and all. Staff and chef are great.Go and have some fun.
It's a great place for chicken and fries, hand-breaded with care, deep fried to perfection, and served piping hot! It was our first time there, and we will definitely be coming back for more! Their beer selection is also great, and I recommend getting a couple to cool your mouth and please your stomach!
Very welcoming place. A highlight was over 1000 tap handles on the walls. Bartender was super cool. Happy a friend turned me onto this spot.
UPDATE: a year ago, I gave this restaurant a 1 star review due to poor service and flat beer. A year later, upon insistence by friends who wanted to have dinner here, I came back. Happily, I can report that my beer was delicious. Service was much improved despite a being busy. I had a bacon cheeseburger which was quite tasty, however, the halibut fish & chips that my wife ordered was amazing. I'm upping my rating to 4 stars.
Bang Bang Niner Gang...Wooden Chicken was great on this full on day of football all over Portland. Even though the Niners torched my 🦅🦅🦅 last week, it's all good. Spent 1/2 my life in the Bay Area so I'm an honorary Californian. Great wings, great crowd, great service. The 4/5 on food was for very disappointing clam strips though, and a friend had an eventful BLT. All good though, will definitely be back there too.
Grabbed late lunch here. The parking lot was nearly empty but a local said they are top notch and we wanted really good food.
Don't let the name fool you. Skip the chicken and order the fish and chips. By far, the best I've had in years! The food was delivered so fresh that I couldn't pick it up until it cooled. The fish portions were nice and thick while the coating was light, thin and crispy. Fries, coleslaw, a salad and bottomless Diet Coke / Root Beer completed our meals.
The staff was excellent. They provided knowledgeable and friendly recommendations and an attentive focus on our progress. I went through 4 glasses of soda (with plenty of ice) and did not need to ask for a refill once.
The Wooden Chicken Pub is a rare find worth going the extra mile or ten for great food and service.
I had the $1.00 taco that was good, wings zings were okay, fish and chips were good. Drinks were good as well.
