Overall, I had a mixed experience. The view, ambiance and drinks were great, but the service was not (due to one particular individual only I'm not speaking on behalf of the rest of the staff). If you're looking for a place to have a nice meal and drinks in a relaxed atmosphere, I would recommend Tope, just be prepared to wait a bit for your food and drinks. The chips and guacamole and salsa are really good. Ally, the shift lead was extremely generous and compassionate towards our group regarding our subpar experience, thank you!
Tope is amazing! Their food and cocktails are extremely delicious. We ordered multiple meals and split them but definitely over indulged. Highly recommend the queso, ceviche, tacos and braised beef. Everything was absolutely incredible. They have a great variety of cocktails as well. The rooftop patio has an incredible atmosphere. I will definitely be returning (hopefully frequently). Do recommend making a reservation if the restaurant allows because it filled fast while we were there.
Tope is a lively rooftop bar that boasts a great view of the Chinatown area, the drinks are good although a bit pricey and the food follows that trend.
I have been to Tope around 5 times and it’s always refreshing seeing the city from the view, it’s an amazing spot to visit in the spring and summer with friends or a date. You can reserve a timeframe but occasionally they will not have a table ready for you during your reserved time, this is the only fault I can provide. I fully recommend Tope.
Tacos are good, definitely on the more expensive side for a taco ($17-$24 for 3) and they taste fancy. Nice cocktails on theme. Basically come for the vibes of a rooftop and then have a little snack and a drink. There can be a long wait so make a reservation
The roof top restaurant is popping. Very opposite of a quiet lobby. The contrast is lovely.
I tried the chorizo empanadas and the hot chocolate dessert. Both were great. The sauce that came with the empanadas was a perfect "spicy" kick I needed to end my night with a proper meal.
Come for the atmosphere and people watching. The view works in some seats but not all seats.
Came across this spot on a social media post so hubby & I made reservations for our anniversary. The food was pretty good! There’s not a ton of choices as far as the menu goes but that didn’t bother us. The meal portions were small but filling enough for us. We enjoyed the carnitas tacos & tri tip tacos. As well as elote & a pitcher of margaritas.
Our server Derek was great, he served us champagne & helped us inside as the weather on the patio was subpar. He answered our questions & was very attentive to us.
Beautiful scenery inside & outside! Love the fireplace indoors & it turned out lovely to sit by while enjoying our anniversary dinner. We enjoyed ourselves here & I would like to check it out for brunch next.
Stopped in for dinner last night to celebrate my anniversary with my partner. From what the staff told us, it was a busy night but wait times for food & the service weren’t even slow. We were greeted by staff at the host stand and sat pretty fast. Our server (Shannon? I think? I forgot to catch her name, oops!) was so sweet and set us up for a great time. We shared the pork tacos and chorizo empanadas— so yummy. And dessert was the fried plantains… to die for. Thank you to the staff for making our first time in so wonderful. You’re killin it.
Solid spot, love that it’s part of the Hoxton Brand. A little pricey, but you’re paying for the view and. Atmosphere - one of the better rooftops in Portland!

Amazing rooftoop views with okay drinks
Being inside the Hoxton in Portland, you really are paying here for a good view of the city. We got here right when it opened, at 4pm, and were able to have almost the entire balcony to ourselves until others came there around 20 minutes later. It is a great place to snag some pictures of the beatiful artchitecutre of Downtown portland.
However, the drinks list wasn't extensive and felt a little overpriced.
I got the Violet Divine, and the drink was incredibly sweet. It tasted like a candy, and while I liked my first few sips, it was hard for me to keep drinking since I felt like I had a lot of sugar on my tongue.
There isn't a ton of boozy coktail options, as most of them felt fruity. They were good for the heat were experiencing, but the price encourages this to be more of a touristy attraction, as it is a great place to grab some pictures.
Very cool rooftop hotel bar with a great view of the holiday lights downtown. I found this place looking for a really good margarita and Tope delivered on that, the food was a bit pricey so we stuck to drinks. I will definitely be coming back for date night.
