The owners are so sweet and welcoming. Coffee is on point and you just can't beat the location.
Love this coffee shop - and I love it even more since it moved across the street. Anna is the perfect barista and now when the afternoon shifts to late-afternoon, you can switch to beer, cider, etc. And they have a big patio with two food carts. What a perfect combo!
Peaks Coffee, is coffee culture done right. Really good tasting coffee, laid back and inclusive atmosphere and reasonable prices were all things I noticed on my visit.
I went to Peaks to get coffee to take as a gift to friends who live out of state. The person working at Peaks was surprisingly welcoming, I think her ownership of the processes she was undertaking made me really comfortable.
I would say this is a great place for curated local coffee, in a crisp, clean, and minimalist environment.
In terms of the coffee itself, I had drip coffee, and it was medium light roasted and not to acidic or sour which sometimes happens with lighter roasts. The to go cup was white and a watercolor pink along the base which also contributed to the "cool" factor of the place.
It's awesome having an authentic coffee experience like this will be back.
I’ve been here a couple times as it is near my PDX home. Both times my beverages were smooth and delicious without being overwhelming strong. Gentle in face. Hipster service is well worth the wait. Baristas are easy going and welcome the customers as they come in. Relax and enjoy.
Coffee and matcha are amazing, the owner and the other guy working in there are some of the friendliest people in Portland. She also hand dyes and stamps her own to go cups. Small space but nice for people watching on Hawthorne on a coffee break.
Amazing coffee, great atmosphere, and super cool aesthetic. Doesn't hurt that the employees are awesome too. There are a good amount of options, from regular coffee to lattes, as well as house made specials.
Very sweet barista (maybe owner?) made me a delicious Nutella iced latte (probably would have been better hot, as it was intended, but it was warm that day). Overheard her talking with each and every customer, incredibly friendly and gracious.
My go to coffee place everytime I'm in Portland. My Mint Tabor is always perfect, and the plants are a plus. Family owned and operated.. Always happy to support small business!
The Mount Tabor latte was very tasty and unique, my wife really enjoyed the Nutella latte. Very friendly staff, if not the friendliest we've encountered around Hawthorne.

Delicious gingery chai with a good bite. Friendly local owners working the counter. Good place for a hot cup when you miss the number 14 bus (right next to both East and West bound bus stops)
