This place was a surprise. Ive lived in the area (very within walking distance of bar) for four years, now, and had always made a lot of assumptions about Boss Hawgs. Having finally gone inside recently, Ive realized most of these assumptions were inaccurate. The vibe is not at all the "country-hick" bar type feel I thought it was going to be. Cool people, fun interactions, i felt safe, bar tender was excellent (longest dreads ive ever seen!), prices were budget friendly, clean, and an over all fun and worth it time. Still with that "dive bar" feel, I bet Boss Hawgs is an absolute blast on a game day. Check it out if you haven't yet. Now that I've been, Ill definitely be back.
Super nice wait staff... they make all the difference! Food and drinks are good price and delicious!.. and.... if there isn't a sporting event on at the time ...they will play whatever music you want! Love it!
This is what a bar should be about, the service is super awesome, Dave is a great bartender, and the atmosphere is very old time bar feels. Food is not overpriced and you get nice and full. A lot of Portland bars are really modernized and expensive for not much, this here is a real bar.
We went to have breakfast here. It was really good food, service & atmosphere. Everything was great! I would recommend them for any meal. I have had other meals here that were very good as well.
Friendly team of experienced bartenders. Good atmosphere. Stop by and see for yourself! Boss Hawgs is a great neighborhood bar and grill.
Basic food, large portions. Few vegetarian options. Breakfast all day. Decent service. Inexpensive drinks. Dive atmosphere.
I ordered a taco salad. I love me a taco salad. This place did not disappoint. Definitely a stop i will make again on my travels.
Seems like everybody knows everybody in there. This was the second time I've ever been in here and both times I got greeted as soon as walking in the door. Everybody seem to be very friendly I giggled a couple times at a couple things people said but I overheard. All I did was throw a couple bucks in the machine and then went on my way. Definitely a place I will stop at when I am out that direction next time I'll order some food and drink stay a little longer.
Friendly staff and regulars. Plenty of space between tables. Multiple TVs, poker machines and everything cleaned consistently. Solid menu!
Parking has been a breeze and it's close to Gateway!
Beer menu is on point as well. With beautiful stouts and your traditional domestics pepper the menu.
I couldn't have made a better choice for a little time away from home.
Food was fair. Good portions for the price.
Server was attentive. Was a bit loud both music and other patrons. Definitely a locals pub, though despite that no one was obnoxious or anything about our presence. Give it a try make your own decision. Chicken strips were good, fish n chips were acceptable. Chicken Cesar salad had a More than generous portion of chicken with the salad. Kinda wishing I had sampled the breakfast menu... Summary tldr. Its not bad, try it yourself.
