Espresso Works

Espresso Works is the first place I went to where I could taste the intricacies and complexity of coffee. Also, I was drinking a mocha. They serve two types of espresso, but I always upgrade to Stumptown for $0.50 more. It is just worth it. One complaint I have is their hot drinks come out EXTREMELY hot. I always have to let them cool for a solid 5+ minutes. I recently discovered they do iced and blended drinks which have come out very nice too. You'll need to ask them to stir in the chocolate into iced mocha, however. They rely on the customer to do it with flimsy straws. Even with that, everyone I bring to this stand tells me that their drinks are the best coffee drinks they have ever had. I really thought at first it was just me. The owner does a fantastic job of training the baristas. Not only that, the employees all seem happy to work here. The owner works the weekends so her employees won't have to. It is a really impressive operation.
