Parking was a little hard to come by, but the people were nice and had good stuff to eat.

Don't miss this eatery!. I had lived in Portland roughly three years or so. Shortly after arriving, I happened to discover the Lair Hill Too Cafe via a referral from a friend. It was conveniently located about a block or so from where I lived in Portland at the time.

Their food runs the gamut from Asian to American, and from soup to nuts. Customers can get coffee, lattes, espresso, and other caffeinated beverages, served all day. The first time I dined at Lair Hill Too, was for breakfast. I tried their daily 'Pancake Special' breakfast. It included 2 luscious pancakes as large as the entire plate they was served on, choice of bacon or hash-browns, and choice of eggs (any style you wish). All this for only $3.99. Besides the generous portions offered at a nice price, the food was superb.

Speaking of their hash browns, I'd never had any better; theirs were like a large pancake of shredded potatoes, cooked lightly crispy outside, moist and tender inside. They melted in my mouth. The eggs were cooked to-order, and arrived hot. They had a mouth-watering aroma, and a light, buttery flavor. The pancakes were also hot, and tasted like they were made from scratch; fluffy yet substantial, and they stood-up well under the syrup and butter I slathered on them. The bacon was quite thick and crispy, with a delicate smoked flavor. Needless to say, I became a regular at Lair Hill Too for breakfast!

Lunch was also a great time to eat at Lair Hill Too. They offer different lunch specials every day at great prices. On Wednesdays between Memorial Day and Labor Day, you can have a burger cooked-to-order, which they grill outdoors. I especially loved their spaghetti special on Fridays, which featured rich, meaty sauce, and a portion of spaghetti ample enough to get two meals out of it.

Another dish that they serve, which qualifies as excellent, are their Yakisoba Noodles. Cooked with tender chunks of chicken, julienned carrots, cabbage, just the right amount of sauce, and noodles cooked to tender perfection. Other notable dishes that stand-out, are their Taco Salad, Chili, and their chicken- salad, tuna, and barbecued-chicken sandwiches.

Lair Hill Too is run by a nice, conscientious couple who really care about their customers. It truly has the homey ambiance of a mom and pop operation. They even let me run a tab there when I was unemployed, or between paydays.

Whatever you do, if you love great food at great prices for breakfast and lunch, don't pass-up this culinary gem. It's definitely among the best eateries in Portland!

I've been a patron there for over 10 years. The owners (Sun and In) are fantastic people. That alone should earn your business, but even more so, they do everything they can for their customers. I eat there at least four times a week. I have several favorites which always bring me back. I wish I could give them a sixth star. :)

I always enjoy going here for lunch, the family that owns the cafe remember things about me and ask about how things are going. They will custom make food to your preferences without increasing the cost of the dish. I asked to a vegetable teriyaki without rice and they added more vegetables to make up for the lack of rice.

Nice atmosphere. The feeling of a family restaurant. Plus the food is great and price is not bad.
