My boyfriend and I have been here 3 times and all 3 times the food was amazing. He loves the corned beef sandwich. The hot pastrami is my go-to each time. The last time we were there, we also picked up the pork belly banh mi. I can't even explain how good it is! We can't recommend this place enough.
Have been going here since they opened. Not one sandwich has disappointed. They always have awesome choices of take home meals. From ribs to raviolis. All of the meat is fresh cut to order per sandwich. Ordered a shaved steak grinder with a few toppings yesterday and received it on a soft roll. Cheeseburger, fried chicken and pastrami are out of this world too. Great staff, fresh selection of food, and take home meals. Would and have recommended this to anyone. Great stop while in Portland. Good job guys.
Wow..A++ First visit. The steak mushroom grinder had marinated shitakes, bread toasted to perfection. Fried chicken sandwich delicious. All cooked to order. Call ahead to avoid waiting. Can't wait to try the charcuterie pates.
I read a few reviews before coming here and a funny one always stuck with me where a reviewer said they immediately fell in love with their sandwich maker because of how delicious it was. And here I am, completely head over heels with the handsome bearded fellow who formed this delicious monstrosity of a sandwich. It is obvious how much pride they take in their food and have sought to go the extra step with every ingredient to make these among the best sandwiches you've ever had. Everything here is great but the sandwich specials are often my go-to. The small assortment of premade food and prepared meats is also great, I usually end up leaving with much more than I planned on.
This place nails it every time. EVERY TIME!!! Top quality ingredients, people who know how to cook it and the right amount of neighborhood feel to make you keep coming back. Sandwiches are a must but don't miss out on the deli meats and other cuts ready to go. Top 3 sandwich in Portland hands down.
I used to live near the shop on Vaughn Street in the West End and loved to grab a sammy there and take it to the Prom on a warm day. I was so happy when I realized the original shop is on Veranda near my new apartment. They make REAL Italians and all of the other food I've tried from this business has always been top quality. Never disappointed and the prices are totally legit for the quality and service I always receive. Excited to go back to the Veranda shop many more times. The diner is great, too! Happy to give these folks my business, especially in these times. Bring cash to tip if you pay with a card!
Delicious neighborhood deli, big on freshness and flavor, with strong connections to local farms and purveyors! Happened upon this delightful deli ... the veal meatball with sauce, mozzarella and a flavorful pepper relish was out of this world! Also selling meats and sausages! Don't miss this gem!
When someone puts time and effort into their products it shows. These guys are no exception. Their meats are well smoked/cured and the bread is always fresh. Pork Belly Bahn Mi and the Mushroom Grinder are favorites.
