When in P-Town, you got to stop and get yourself a Malassada from the Provincetown Portuguese Bakery - it's a sweet fried bread better than a donut. Delicious! The Portuguese Golden Meat Pie has a beef filling & an olive inside. It was wonderful toasted later that evening.
Grab something to eat for your whale watching trip (it's about 45 minutes before you get to see whales) unless you want to pay $4 for a hot dog or $2 for a small bag of chips/pretzels on the boat.
There fishcakes are fantastic. Sold the baked goods are great. Others can be rather tasteless.

This place is an absolute gem hidden on Commercial Street. I would highly suggest going here for a quick lunch and make sure to get the Portuguese fried sweet dough for dessert. It's light and sugary cloud of heaven.
Before going to Provincetown, I was immensely curious about its culinary scene, whether it would be a mass of tourist traps or instead whether it might offer some intriguing finds. The restaurant world in Provincetown is relatively small, with about 30 seated restaurants and a number of more fast food/counter spots. You will find plenty of seafood and American fare, however you will also find diverse cuisine such as Thai, Japanese, Mexican, French and more. Forget McDonald's and Taco Bell, as you won't find any of those restaurant chains in Provincetown. In fact, the only chain that you will find is Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream , and that really isn't a typical chain anyways. Overall, I enjoyed plenty of delicious food in Provincetown, at high end restaurants as well as small cafes. Many of these places would be welcome additions to the culinary scene of Boston. Extra special service with deliciousness in everything here. The bakery is amazing. We ordered fried dough with sugar and a blondie. Then, as we chatted with other customers about the eclair filling, the baker brought us each a taste to try. Extraordinary effort and generosity! I’m giving it a rare (for me) 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️!
So delicious. We had the Pasteis de Nata and Malassadas. They were amazing! So fresh. The Malassadas were like clouds of dough from heaven, fluffy, fresh, loaded with flavor. Can't wait to go back for more.
The malasadas are a must order. Highly recommend going early (before 11:30) to get the breakfast sandwiches too. The portugese rolls are perfect for the sandwiches - soft and flavorful.

Great little bakery! They take and ready your order quickly. I got the ham and cheese omlette croissant. It was very tasty. I was happy to find they had iced coffee. All prices were reasonable and on display. No seating available, but there is some benches/tables nearby outside. Would reccomend for a quick stop.

Loved being able to enjoy a pastel de nata with an espresso shot on the side for the first time since Lisbon. Quite crowded here but quick service for grab and go tasty Portuguese treats.
Everyone MUST go here. I stopped on my way out of P'town b/c I luv Portuguese sweet bread 😋 and b/c it is one of the oldest establishments in town--the local history is important. There, I discovered wonderful pastry. Even my grumpy husband said the almond, chocolate croissant was DEEELICIOUS. But the best of all was the service!@#! Just opening the shop at 8:00 a.m., Chuck was bright & welcoming. And they had the sweetest, earnest young counter help. Gonna remind all my friends to stop there. 299 Commercial Street.
