I believe it's the best Italian food in Raleigh. I am from NYC, and I think and believe I know Italian food when I taste it. This is superb. Plus, the waitress always greets me as a regular when I go. I recommend this place to all my friends.
The absolute best Italian restaurant in downtown Raleigh. I'm from NJ and this place reminds me of home. We have never had a bad dish or poor service!
Great Italian food with huge portions. You always go home with enough leftovers for lunch the next day.
We enjoy the monthly wine suppers also, amazing pairings and interesting to learn about the wines of Italy.
The family and staff that own and operate Vic's are lovely people, super friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu with a good wine pairing suggestion.
If the weather is nice, eat out on the patio - Moore Square is a lovely area.
Parking is either street (if you get lucky) or the city lot behind them ($5) but it is a short, mostly flat walk from the lot to the restaurant.
Would highly recommend Vic's - it is our favorite place in Raleigh.

Vic's took me straight back to my childhood in Jersey, with the correct variety of spice shakers, a kitchen that runs hot enough to require extra fans in the summer, and a bathroom you have to scoot around back for. This is a place where regulars are greeted with hugs and handshakes, where they inquire about your in-laws, and where 3 year-old kids ask their favorite server by name. Opera, and golden-age crooners play from the ceiling, half-heard behind the din of conversation and serving-wear clattering.
Oh, and the serving staff is friendly as all get out.
As for the food? -chef kiss- My chicken parmigiana was just right, served with a tangy-sweet tomato sauce and cheese that was ever so slightly over-baked. The portions were large enough to make any grandmother happy...you ain't leaving here hungry. I only finished half, and still, I had to order a side of meatballs to go, (having seen them on someone's dish). And then we were convinced to try desert. The Italian style (ricotta) cheesecake was lighter than I expected, and yet still quite sweet.
I do so love it when I don't know whether to start a review with the atmosphere or the food. I'll be back again to soak both up soon, though. Thank you, Vic's!
Very good Local Italian restaurant. It's right on the heart of Raleigh Downtown.
It has both inside & outside seating options. Outside seating is very casual & on the street. You will see passing cars ( not many) & people walking/scootering the street.
I like pizza & pasta both.
This place was recommended by a coworker. I stopped by with coworkers for lunch. I ordered the lasagna & calamari. I must say, the lasagna was absolutely delicious. Normally, I don't complete an entire meal, but on this visit, I did the complete opposite. A small restaurant that packs huge flavors in their meals.
The food is delicious per usual. I had the lasagna and it was so good. Our waiter was very kind and the atmosphere was awesome as they were playing great Italian music.
What an amazing experience. Salvatore and the whole staff took such good care of our big group on the fly. Salvatore gave the best suggestions ever and made us feel like family. Love IT
We ate there in May, 2023. Very nice staff, clean but old restaurant. Adorable Italian owners. The absolute best pizza ever. Crisp not greasy. That place is about the only thing that would make me stop in Raleigh nc ever again.
Vic's is hands down my favorite Italian restaurant. The penne alla vodka is my go-to dish every time and its quality is always consistent. The servers are friendly and the environment is cozy. It's a true gem.

Every time I visit, it’s always delicious! Got the Penne Al Funghi Con Pollo (Penne sauteed with chicken & mushrooms served in a pink cream sauce)! I could swim in this sauce its so good! Chefs kiss 🤌🏼
You really can’t go wrong with anything you order here! My partner got the same dish and we ordered lemon cake too (forgot the name of it). Total was about $45 before tip! Atmosphere was a vibe and the staff were very attentive and friendly! Love this spot!!
Vic’s was already my favorite pizza in Raleigh and then we stopped in for a sit down Italian lunch. The restaurant is clean but aging. You’re not going to be wowed by the ambiance. That said, the service was friendly and super attentive. And the food, just Wow, pretty sure Nona’s in the kitchen cooking because the food is so good. The veal parm was amazing. Tender, perfectly seasoned, cheesy. The sauce/gravy is tangy, salty, with just the right amount of sweet for balance. Mmm. Someone else had the chicken parm which was also delicious. If you’re looking for classic Italian food, Vic’s is delivering the goods.
