Great selection of goods for such a small store... and mostly organic products. Seems to have all of the reccessities including fresh produce and supplements... and prices competitive with Whole Foods and other larger chain stores.
Also has fresh squeezed juices, and locally made hot soups and hot burritos.
I highly recommend it!!
Oh...and a friendly and courteous staff.
I feel I found food heaven when I first walked in last week. Been back 3 times since. Food is great, small batch (local when in season) organics. Definetly will become my regular weekly stop.
Great find out of the blue in downtown Reno. Excellent groceries, produce, health foods, etc.. also had great coffee upstairs at the No City Coffee that was awesome.
This is such a great spot to get your vegetables. I come here on my walk to see what my body needs and is craving, they always have my favorite green and a pumpkin seed tofu that I only been able to find hear. Such a great treat to have so close to my house with all my healthy food options.
Check out their bulk bins for sure. They have millet!
I looked high and low for the stuff -- Wal-Mart, Smart and Final, Sprouts, Trader Joe's -- and none of those places sold a single bag of millet. But this co-op sells it in bulk, at a significantly cheaper price than I was able to find online.
We are traveling to Utah for a mountain biking trip and stopped over night to break up the drive. Last night we needed to figure out breakfast and lunch for the road today. Being healthy eaters....we did not want to stop for fast food on the way. We found Great Basin in Reno while searching online and decided to check it out. What a gem of a place! They have a variety of prepared foods. My daughter (age 15) got a turkey pesto club for lunch and some yogurt and granola for breakfast. I got a delicious chia parfait for breakfast and a Cobb salad for later. They had my daughter's favorite kombucha (wild tonic). My husband found some perfect snacks for the road for himself. Upstairs they have an espresso/coffee bar with ample seating. I had my own tea that I wanted to make myself and the gentleman manning the cafe filled my thermos with hot water and allowed me to take over a table while I made my yerba mate latte! The staff was incredibly helpful and kind and they all seem to love working there. I read some reviews that complained about prices being high. I think it is important to remember that it costs a lot to own a business and to offer the quality of food that is offered, it costs money. They are competing against markets that are huge corporations. Something to consider.....
We will visit again on our way back. Thanks again Great Basin. We are nourished!

I love this place. The soups and cookies that they make are amazing. We get the vegan and gluten free ones. A few things are expensive, but it is worth it to support a local coop. They also have good deals some days. Staff are always friendly and helpful. 💖
Foodshed Café offers incredible burrito bowls and fresh organic (read $6-8) juices. The market downstairs has more than a full cooler door of kombucha alone at very reasonable prices.
One of my absolute favorite local organic food co-ops with a great selection and daily fresh Soup, Salad and Baked items.
Great store, great service, excellent selection of hard to find items. Produce was top notch as well. Store was small and lacked general item selection.
