Very friendly and accommodating. Old style Italian deli. Follow up 7/14. Calabresella makes their own sausage grinding the fennel so you get the taste without the seeds in your teeth. The deli provolone and salami are the best we've had anywhere. I'm a little afraid to praise them too much. I want to keep the secret to myself!
Awesome cold cuts. I have to say they have the best deli meat in town. You can't beat there prices either. They also have a very friendly staff who treat you like you have going there forever. I definitely recommend them.

Great Deli ... Not much else to say ... Fresh, great prices, wonderful service, did I say fresh? The best sub I've had in ages ... A must try and worth the trip !!!
In addition to having some of the best subs in town, the deli meat, cheese and home made salads are always fresh and reasonably priced. Staff is very friendly and offer a large variety of imported foods as well as neighborhood classics. Also has a seating area for those who wish to dine in.
It's a secret. I hate to give it away but this place is a hidden gem. An old-style neighborhood deli, they have some of the best subs that I've ever had. A great deli counter tempts me everytime, but I gotta go for the steak sub with the Boss sauce. Give me lots a napkins, but man-o-man is it good!! Go to the back deli counter to place your order, have a seat in the dining room and they'll bring it out to you when it's ready (which is always fast). It's a place that will take you back to simplier times... oh, and did I say, the food is great!!
Had an awesome turkey and ham sandwich today. Bought it for a flight to Hawaii. The large will feed me at least 3 meals and was delicious. Easily twice as much meat and cheese for the same price as Wegmans or Dibella’s. Staff were awesome, attentive and friendly.
Will be back. I got an Italian Assorted. Delicious! I can't wait to try other sandwiches.
House: clean and unpretentious. Very strong sense of community in the dining area.
Service: friendly. The place was nonstop and the staff was moving along without being rude or impatient.
Food: I got the small and should have considered the mini. The sandwich was bigger than I thought. Fresh and delicious!
Price: competitive pricing. They are a little cheaper than some chain places that offer worse food.
A great Italian Delli, clean, neat with a friendly helpful staff. "The subs are the best in Rochester." Generous portions. My favorite is the Steak Sub with; onions, mushrooms and mozarella. Truly unbelievable see attached photo. I plan on trying all their subs over time. Give them a try, you will not be disappointed.
You always know there is great food being served, when the line for the lunch hour crowd is out the door. The food definitely did not disappoint. So many delicious items to choose from, it's always a hard choice. The colon kicker is one of their signature sandwiches. Shaved steak with grilled capicola. Bread is baked fresh, and sometimes they will run out. Do yourself a favor and go there often, but get there early. They tell everyone that you got your colon kicked.
I grew up in Gates and live elsewhere. Dena totally set me up for a Rochester-food based tailgate even though I am 1600 miles away. She even sent some Zweigle's Hots cook's hats! The shipping was top notch, the items were perfect and EVERYONE loved it! I can't say enough or recommend any more highly Calabresella's if you are missing a taste of home.
Stopped in for lunch on a Monday, service was super fast, sandwiches were delicious - staff was professional but friendly! We will definitely be back, although not as soon as we thought because the sandwich was enough for two meals lol

The most authentic Italian deli in the Rochester area. The best place for all your Italian culinary needs! The absolute greatest hot and cold subs in town, fresh deli and cheeses, canned goods. Omg the cannolis and pastries! Just the smell of the place when you walk in is intoxicating. Great atmosphere all around, tables to sit and chat and eat.
Have heard about the Colon Kicker for a long time... well, finally tried it. Ordered with peppers & onions, provolone and wing sauce.
WOW! Fantastic! Just the right amount of heat, tons of meat... HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
