The oxtails, with rice and cabbage is really good. I got a small and it was HUGE ROCHESTER lol. A great deal for the price.
The food was great but, the service was FANTASTIC. I have nothing bad to say about this place. Definitely going to return. BEST IN THE CITY
Went there for take-out for the first time today. Had large jerk chicken with the rice and peas. It was more than enough to get filled up on. Food was very good. Chicken was spicy enough to have a drink nearby but not overwhelmingly so.The oxtail gravy over the rice was just right. Keep an eye out for fried rice balls, a possible future menu item. Great staff. Very friendly and personable. Inside was clean and bright. Will go back for sure. The chef, Jason, seems to really have a passion for what he does and Jamice was a great behind the bar/counter. Easy in, easy out parking lot right next to the gas station. Try it out.
Love it here best jerk chicken in Rochester
This is a clean place and the food is incredible! The prices are reasonable too. Everything is made in small batches with almost no pre-heating so it's as fresh as can get. the only problem I ran into the couple of times I've been here is they run out of food constantly. You have to get here when they open or soon after. Everything is prepared to order and some things, like the goat or oxtail, can take up to an hour to cook so be prepared to eat whatever they have left that's cooked or get there first thing. Very family friendly and didn't mind my crazy kids learning their "eating out" manners here. :)
You would not know this place exists if you didn't look it up. It's got some amazing jerk chicken. The taste was in point the server was kind. Looks like it could use a good renovation, but hole in the wall places like these aren't known for their looks! Just great food!
Girl. I've never had their brown stew chicken before.... Nickie meet tan stew chicken. Brown stews 3rd cousin once removed. They don't resemble each other, but surprisingly tastes like its distant browner cousin.****** That was my description with photo attached, to my sister after my recent experience there on 3/19/2016. This is the best restaurant I've been to since I've been back in the area. A good 30 minutes from home, I had my mouth set on oxtail and rice and peas from mawnin. I got there late afternoon after 4. Oxtail sell off. Settled on the before mentioned brown stew chicken. It tasted like brown stew but it seemed like you ran out of brownin. And it was dry. The rice and peas was dry too. I put it in the microwave after a few bites and forgot it was in there. That NEVER happens. Maybe the cook hold a vibez before they start to cook? Always a satisfied customer! Yes even still.
The jerk chicken is amazing. It's delicious and very spicy as jerk seasoning should be. The owner is very nice and made us feel very welcomed. We will definitely be back.
Besides my parents, this is the best Jamaican food I've had in the town! Nice portions , and the gravy from the oxtail alone should be sold with rice.
The food is AMAZING. The service can be slow at times. I'll put up with the slow service for the good food. Call ahead to find out what they still have available if you go in after dinner.
