Good consistent and quick
Soulman's is the BEST BBQ in North Texas. The portions are generous and the selections of sides to choose from...well, there are so many it's hard to choose! The ribs are the best I have had anywhere, topped only by County Line in Austin. They were meaty and very juicy not to mention seasoned perfectly so very flavorful. The brisket is cut to order, so depending on of you like drier brisket or the fattier juicy slices, you can get it however you prefer. My favorite thing is the BBQ sauce. It is not too thick, and has a sweet but smokey flavor that perfectly compliments the meats. Great value, tender juicy meat, friendly staff, big portions, delicious food...this place has it all! Highly recommend!!
BBQ lover!!!!!. This is the BEST BBQ in America!!!
Meat is moist, juicy & tender!!
Large portions!!
Great service & down home friendly!!!
Atmosphere is great!
I've used their cattering as well & it's always a HIT!!!
BBQ WITH NOT ENOUGH SOUL. But hey it taste good...the ribs were very meaty and tender....the brisket was dry....let me stop and explain the lead....the soul of Texas BBQ is the spices called "rub" and slow wood fired smoking that creates the famous red rind and brisket snot...that is where the fat is slowly caramelized into the rub...it is gooood ...and you do not need sauce...don't get me wrong...I like sauce...here they needed sauce to make it BBQ to give it flavor...I think it is cooked in a gas smoker... still it was not bad...but anyone can throw ribs into an oven...another issue was the sides...they looked great but they were out...and the highschoolers who were intrusted with the operations were not at all concerned...try Luling City Market and understand soul/BBQ....3 links of 5
Parking lot full of truckers & pickup trucks. Inside there were a couple of lawmen. Cabbage had jalepenos. Sandwich served without a bun is a " no see um". We felt back home after a 4 week road trip up East. Great food!
Good food, had the place to ourselves 9n a Friday night. Good. Lol
Quick and easy to order. Nice big tables that were clean. Ordered the Soul Bowl special with pork, sausage, beans and Fritos. Wow! Excellent. Enough to feed 2! We are passing through but will put this place on our return list.
The staff was freindly and helpful. The set up is a buffet and you pick up what you want and pay at the end. The cashier was kind enough to ring us up as one of their specails to get us a better deal. We had a rack of ribs, Mac and cheese and Texas toast (of coarse because we are in Texas) with sauce on the side. They had coke products which was great because we like Coke Zero. The ribs were soft and juicy and the BBQ sauce was awesome. The Mac and cheese smooth and creamy. The Texas toast was very little butter and was light but still tasty. They take the plates and trays from your table so don't look around for the garbage can. Best of all, free soft serve ice cream when you buy rib for dessert. Great visit, too bad we are not in Texas longer!
I've been here a couple of times now. I had the brisket sandwich and also the sausage sandwich plate. Both were very good. I grew up on barbecue and love trying it everywhere I go. I always get the beans and potato salad to be consistant. The potato salad was good but the ranch beans could have been spicier. (Yes, I put BBQ sauce on the potato salad.) The staff were efficient and friendly enough. Overall a great lunch experience.
