I am adding this spot to one of my top favorites in LA without a question. Lost of these trendy restaurants in Rowland Heights come out tasting pretty average, but Miao Miao Xian stood out to me on a higher level.
Overall
Nice live music ambiance, good vibes, courteous and delicious food.
Ordered:
Grilled Black Code whole fish (5/5): The authentic taste of grilled fish which reminds the one that I had in China. Thumbs up.
Lamb skewers (small) were different from other Chinese restaurants. The cut the lamb into small pieces which makes the lamb cube tastier.
冷锅串串:the sauce was so phenomenal.
Yummmy spicy Chinese food! Perfect if you like HOT =-O
Been here twice within a week, tired all three types of siginiture dishes, amazingly delicious! And the cold dishes r good too.
Wide range of drinks, great for gathering n parties.
The hotpot is big and abundant. Service is not bad with karaoke. Free WiFi too

It was a cold Friday evening and we're looking for Chinese food that is both hot and spicy. We came upon Miao Miao Xian in Rowland Heights.
When we arrived, we were greeted with an adorable logo of a cat. AHHH! That explains the name. The restaurant is quite spacious inside and comes with an extensive menu of seafood and meat dishes.
Their mission is to provide fresh, healthy and nutritious tasty food at reasonable prices in a clean and friendly environment.
We ordered the Cod Fish - Dragon Gate Style, Short Ribs in Griddle Pot, and Glutinous Rice Dumplings for desserts. The short ribs came with crunchy fries, dressed in a spicy sauce. So delicious!! The cod fish came in a spicy broth, packed with all kind of ingredients such as mantis shrimp, lotus roots, and mushroom. The meal ended on a perfect note with Glutinous Rice Dumplings, a lovely ending to cool down all of the spices.
If you’re still undecided on what to eat this weekend, come here! I guarantee you will have a great time!!
This place is phenomenal. I have been three times and the food is uniformly fantastic each time. The menu appears to have been streamlined a bit recently, which seems OK to me as it was a bit overwhelming before. The star of the show is, of course, the dry pot. I have nothing against boilerplate Chinese-American takeout, but I feel very lucky to have the option to check out authentic, regional Chinese cuisine during a working lunch. Highly recommended.
I am not a Chinese person so i cant comment if it is authentic but to me i feel like the food is authentic. good food. I will definitely come back for more. I wanna try more dishes here. We had crazy spicy flavor paper wrapped fish which was so spicy that almost messed up my stomach.
Lucky I ordered the Dim Sum that paired well with the dandan. Next time i will try the cold chili Chicken
