After visiting San Francisco and eating at their restaurants that served the freshest seafood, I was missing it, now being back in Sacramento. Stopped by at the California Fish Grill to fill that void. I’ve eaten here many times before and I’m so glad I remembered this place. They have fresh seafood here everyone!! I ordered the Wild Salmon over riced cauliflower and zucchini and it was delicious. The Wild Salmon was perfectly cooked. Fresh and flaky. It was a delight and was the next best thing! Top it off with beer or wine!
The salsa bar has been replaced. Just ask for the salsa/sauces and they will give you the salsa in a container with lids, for your safety. Restrooms were clean and so were both the inside of the restaurant & outside the patio area. They also provide no contact ordering.

The dynamite shrimp bowl. If it is a dollar more to make it a salad. Why serve it dry with no dressing. My coconut shrimp was over cooked and hard. The shrimp bowl serving was small for a big guy like me.
Took my daughter here on a Dad and daughter date. It was the perfect place to be for us here! Food was served hot and fresh...fast to order as well! She adored it! We scored here!
omg wow first time in Sac and this was one of my favorite meals. the dynamite shrimp bowl was fabulous i got it with brown rice and no cilantro, thought i would need extra sauce but it was so flavorful. had the perfect kick to it! the amount of shrimp was insane though im having to take half home because i couldn’t finish the 20 shrimps on top of the rice ! my boyfriend got the grilled chicken sandwich and i thought it tasted amazing, he said it’s alright because he didn’t think it was spicy enough.
I ate here at least 3-4 times and their food is consistently good. It's actually difficult for most restaurants to deliver the same quality every time.
I've had the fish tacos, fish n chips and the dynamite fries. OMG...those are my go to. Mom tells me the coleslaw is nice and tasty as well They never disappoint. I'm a serious foodie and a hard core critic so I'm happy to write a good review for this place.
Whatever you are doing in the kitchen keep doing it. The staff is just mediocre, the service can be better.
Great fish and chips. Kale salad needed more dressing. Calamari was ok. Coconut shrimp were good. Do wish they had the indoor seating available.
It has been a while since I've been to visit but No Worries Mates! They still come through in the Cluch. On the menu: Sea bass with zuchini and fries. Fish tacos and shrimp trio along with, The grilled catfish, rice and Kale salad. And No this wasn't all me lol! But it was most Delicious! Good Food Good Service. 😊
I got the salmon bowl. Wow that was great tasting, especially for a counter serve restaurant! Salmon was fresh and cooked nicely. Nice texture and taste with the cilantro.
Had some tacos another time - my partner and I both really liked the Cajun fish taco!
Hungry? Fishing for something delicious and healthy, but don't know what to get? Well, this restaurant will satisfy your appetite! I highly recommend getting your selection of fish grilled! I got the Sea bass plate and loved it! They do a really good job grilling. The fish was not dry at all. If you prefer fried fish, it's pretty good too, but make sure you eat it at the restaurant where it's hot and fresh. A lot of people complain that the batter is too thick, which can be a problem when the food is delivered and gets cold. Restaurant is clean, cool, and spacious. Free parking and an unlimited soda fountain is available for you drinkers! 🌝
The service today was really good. A cashier with the hair clip and I think black and red hair that I haven't seen before helped us and it improved our experience. The food is good most of the time so it is good to see good customer service here too.
